  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well I finally got it. I have lit 3 smokes from it. So far so good. I was just at a local cigar shop today. I saw the exact same design as the xikar executive, but it said Firebird where xikar is. I don't believe it was made by colibri. It is basically the exact same lighter. Has anyone heard of this Firebird?
I think that Firebird was Colibri's inexpensive line.

firebird is just another brand. these guys are all getting the same lighter from the same factory in china.. the more popular the brand name is that stamped on the ligher, the more it retails for.

went to check, i have a firebird. use good fuel, keep it just under full power and it *usually* lights everytime.

it was a gift, so i accept 60% of the time for it. it's only used for perfectos and other times my triple flame is overkill

So far I have lit 6 smokes off of it and still going strong. Lights on the first or second push which I am fine with. So far no complaints. Can't wait for my sheath to come in the mail so I can carry on my pocket. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I saw the same lighter in a gas station for $6.99 today. It said Tiger on the side

same issue as some of the others with the executive. small tank but it has worked for me for almost two years. I keep mine in the sheath they sent me and it has been washed a few times and still fires up on the first try. Mine has to be turned up almost all the way to light and it will not light if the fuel is low. I have used the heck out of it so I can't complain about it.

yeah I was at a local shop and saw basically the same thing except it said Firebird. I cound't find out how actually made the lighter though. I wouldn't think that Colibri would copy almost to the T. I could be wrong though.

Well most of you probably don't care but I am up to 8 cigars on one fill up and still going strong. Hopefully it will continue!

I have both the Executive and the Tiger (a couple of them) and can't find any differences. BTW, be sure to get the free case from Xikar for the Executive, because they scratch if you just look at them funny.

I've got one that I keep in my golf bag. It seems to run out of fluid pretty quickly and the finish is wearing off. It also may take a few clicks before lighting.
