Youtube - Cigar shop...plumes or mold?

Hi guys


I was watching Youtube last night and found a video of a cigar shop in Georgia that seem to have plumes on it. However the people replying to the video have unanimously decided that what's on the cigars are actually mold spores. Thought you guys might want to take a look and give an opinion.

You can see the plume/mold at about the 9:00 minute marker.

I'm no expert, but that blotchy white stuff (at 8:24) looks like mold to me.

That's a weird video. From everything I read plume doesn't make a cigar taste better. The age on a cigar with plume is what makes it taste better. I'm new to this so I could be totally wrong.

Looks like mold to me. Plume is not blotchy. If you want to see exactly what plume looks like, the next time you are in your local produce dept. go check out the plums. That whitish powdery look to the skin is natural plume.

This looks delicious. That is what all my humi's look like. 86rh and 85 is perfect for beautifully smokable cigars. What the hell do you guys store yours at?

lol saw this on reddit a couple days ago...that's gotta be mold and I hope he has changed his ways, especially misinforming his customers that is good. Do you guys typically tell your B&M management about mold or damaged sticks if you see them?

Plume doesn't exist though. It's an Urban Legend that was started by Marvin Shanken in the first issue of Cigar Aficionado. Google it.
