pick one of those up... and you'll never want to write with anything else... ever again....

truely AWESOME...

they can be had a good bit cheaper than that list price BTW.. thats just the first link I found... I picked mine up while my wife and I were in Florence (where they are made).. more as a momento of the trip than anything else.. but since buying it.. I no longer use any of my "expensive" pens... I prefer it over my higher end pens (mostly mont blancs)

Should have mentioned rotring in my initial post too though.. their lower cost options are AWESOME for every day use pens.. the Rotring 600 fountain is the absolute BOMB!

I think I paid $290 for it at a little shop in Florence...

I've seen them around the $300-$320 price point a couple of times online.... if you can find a B&M retailer that carries them in the US (not very common).. theyre usually around the $375-$400 range..

BEST PEN IVE EVER OWNED...

I have a Dunhill (which looks great) and a DuPont (which isn't working at this moment and is not as nice) but somehow end up using the pilot varsity disposable ones.

Levenger.com....the store for writers.....it feeds my pen addiction. Their clearance sales are legendary. HIGHLY recommended and just up the road for me.

I went to one when I was in Florida. Almost bought a chair there. Ending up buying a leather laptop bag. Love levenger stuff.

Cheap Chinese pens. Jinhao x750 and x450. They write really well after a little nib adjustment. Writes pretty smooth and lays down a good stream of ink. I got mine from eBay, but Gouletpens have them now. They run 10 to 15 bucks and they come with a converter. I also grabed a pack of 10 converters for $5

Funny how the various hobbies and interests seem to run together. Just picked up my first fountain pen this week, a Cross Aventura. It was the only one they had at Staples, so figured I'd try it out before ordering something more expensive online. Really liking it so far, although I realized quickly that I hadn't written in cursive for probably 20 years, so my penmanship is horrid...

brent, we spend an inordinant ammount of brain and emotional space on aesthetics; something that is only a taste, a smell, a texture. it ain't that far of a reach from our beloved cigars, to booze (or other drinks, like coffee!), pens, knives, watches, shaving... elevating a profane thing into something more sacred, in the sense of taking the mundane and using it to elevate the self (with thanks to mircea eliade), is kinda what we do, right? o)

damn i must be tired to wax philosophic. so, on topic, the lammys are just super good for a budget option!
