Chinese folk think we're crazy to allow Dogs and Cats into our homes as pets. I'm repulsed by the thought of eating them, but that's a cultural thang.

Just to be clear and gentlemanly here, that picture was in no way meant to offend any dog lovers and I apologize if it did. I know some folks hold their pets in the highest regard.

For the record, I did not eat this. Although I sat in the restaurant at the distance from it that I took the picture. I'm not saying I wouldn't try it if it was put in front of me, but anybody here with money doesn't eat it they say. Personally, didn't look too appetizing.

What I did have was a hot pot dinner!

Cow stomach?

Basically you cook meatballs, beef, etc in the boiling pot at the table. Delicious way of eating. This was recommended to me by Rupe during my last trip and was a must do on this trip. Thanks again brother!

Ps- rabbit is delicious!

Just a quick note...Very decent of you to explain the photo of the dog and your stance on not wanting to offend...Very decent of you to do so. Just so's ya know, I think most here regard you as a pretty stand up guy, and I don't think anyone took any offense or thought you were trying to stir up the pot. :)
i also hope that my initial, reactionary post was understood.

So last night in Hong Kong, we head out for dinner. While in Hangzhou(much farther north) we had the crab lunch I posted about. The crabs are harvested there so the guy who I am with who is from Hong Kong was super excited to try the native crab on its home turf. He hyped it up to no end.

While eating that day he was disappointed and asked where the best crabs go to. They said all the best go to Hong Kong. Oh the irony...he had been eating the best for years. So he insisted we go get a crab dinner in Hong Kong before I leave.

That we did!

Round 1: crab meat soup with hint of ginger

Round 2: Crab!!!
The lady broke it up completely for me since it is a skill I do not possess considering I've eaten crab about a dozen times in my life and mostly king crab legs which are easy.

I ate every shred. Dipped in a sweet vinegar...OMG

Round 3: sticky rice with crab meat sauce and greens

This might actually been the highlight! So rich and delicious

Round 4: crab meatball dumpling

Round 5: the finale...ginger soup with sesame paste filled dumplings

The lady also brought me ginger tea which was really good in moderation. Spicy ginger flavor.

What a meal! Only 468HKD lol (almost 60USD)

Then took a stroll downtown

So busy...

But going down to Victoria Harbor was worth it and I think I caught a great shot/view for a camera phone

Now just relaxing with an Angel before hitting the 6am shuttle to the airport for a 24 hour trip home

HKG to PEK to LAX to DTW

I'm sure I'll feel, and smell, great after that. See you gents on the other side...of the globe!
