We're looking at Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. We went to Barcelona last year and fell in love with it so we were hoping to spend some time on the island and then go back to Barcelona for a few days before we head back home.
I missed this post earlier...

I spent a few days on Mallorca this past summer... absolutely beautiful.... for me at least, anything more than about 3-4 days there would be wasted though.. you can see just about everything there is to see in Palma (largest city on the island) in a day... there are some awesome little towns to go visit all over the island as well... but once again, (IMO at least) anything more than a day at one of them.. and you'll have seen it all and start to get a little bored..

We took and old train out to Soller on a whim.. and it turned out to be the best part of the trip... Soller is an awesome little seaside town with a cool beach, nice shops and restaurants, etc.. and the train ride is very cool (take you through some incredible scenic passes, through orange and lemon groves, etc..etc..)..

If youre into art at all.. there is a neat little gallery in Soller that is full of work from Picasso.. and has a few Miro works and Gaudi works as well.. (free.. no cost to enter the gallery)...

We did 4 days in Barcelona, 3 days in Mallorca, and 3 days in Pamplona.. that worked out just about perfect for us (enough time in each place to see most of what we wanted to see.. but not there so long that we ran out of things to do or got bored..)...

If youre looking for a reasonably priced hotel, we stayed at the Hotel AC (owned/operated by Marriott) in Palma.. its a little off the beaten path.. but is walking distance from the main tourist area.. reasonably priced (less than 100 euro a night).. and is well managed, maintained, etc.. the staff was super helpful, very friendly, etc.. as well..

Don't wanna piss off my sponsor Smoqman... Maybe I'll just leave it at feeling the holiday spirit this evening. Why is spelling so hard? Thanks Siri....
