Had one for the first time last week. Thought it was a pretty good smoke......but no where near cigar of the year, imo. But everyone has different tastes.

I havn't had a Melanio yet that even smoked well, always super tight draw on all 10 i've ever tried (not from same box either). Their list is horseshit

It's one of my favorite regular rotation cigars.
I think it's funny when people get worked up about lists that are based on opinions .

I have enjoyed the Melanios that I have smoked and consider it a very good cigar, but if I was making a list it would not be #1. Congrats to Oliva, as I am sure they are very happy. I feel these Cigar of the Year lists are more something we can discuss than gospel. Always makes for a topic nearly everyone has an opinion on.

It was top 5 for me too. My number one isn't on the list and that's the HR.
I am pretty sure the HR came out too late in the year to be ranked. I tried an HR last week. I thought it was a good cigar, but I don't think it's $20 good. I would've scored it a 91. If I am going to pay $20 for a cigar it better be as good as some of my other favorites that are in that price range.
