That is so cool David, congrats to both of you! It took us six years before we had our first one too. We had gone through the same crap you did except for the procedures, we weren't going to do that. We finally gave up hope and were considering adopting and the next thing we know she's pregnant. Two kids, both c-sections (the first was not planned) and everyone made it through just fine.

I don't want to get your hopes up but our daughter started sleeping through the night after about six weeks. Three weeks of hell with colick but after that it was smooth sailing. Oh, when our son came along he forgot that we needed sleep too and didn't start sleeping through the night until he was two years old.

See what you have to look forward to? lol!

11 weeks pregnant and she acts like she can't pick up a damn empty box. I am now tending to not only my chores, but all the shit she used to do.

Someone shoot me now!

CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE!!!!!!!!!
They are a real blessing. I too waited until later. I guarantee you have never been happier than you will be now, or will be in nine months. If you don't have one now, get a good camera and take lotsa pictures.

David:

Congratulations on the news. I was 38 when I had my daughter and 39 when I had my son. In retrospect I should of had them 10 years earlier (they will run you ragged) but it continues to be the best journey of my life. My children are now 5 and 6 and its still a challenge but as they say "I wouldn't trade them for the world". A couple words of advice...if you don't already have patience, try to get some and NEVER take your eyes off them while in public.
