  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Whats the quality like with Peterson pipes? Was looking at getting a 2016 St. Pattys Day edition one because they looked so very nice. Probably the tank L or one of the others below

I have a 2012 St Patty's day pipe and for the money it's a good smoker. I've been lucky in the Peterson's I have, had good drilling in them.

Sorry, I hear this a lot about good and bad drilling... what makes good drilling and how do you know if you received good drilling vs. shit drilling?

Sometimes you'll get a pipe and the draft hole isn't centred, too far left, right, up or down. Have heard Peterson can be notorious for it, only have 1 pipe from them, from @CaptainRon (cheers bro) and the drilling a perfect. Just hard because there are no real pipe stores in Oz, I have to buy online, we can only pickup shit pipes and the odd falcon in B&Ms here, because of the blind purchasing I have steered clear of Peterson, but if you get a good one they are great!

Those are some beautiful looking pipes.

I have a couple of Irish Seconds, which are Peterson's. I like them, but one, the hole is high in the bowl. I've thought about putting pipe mud in the bottom, to lower the hole. Curious if anyone has tried doing that.
