Very good, but it's got a serious kick (60%+)

Well, I learned that the hard way. Normally I pour out 4 measured ounces and sip for two hours, usually smoking a cigar. But Stagg Jr. had me feeling really buzzed. The flavors were impressive. Definitely one of my new favorites. Spicy and oaky with some vanilla and caramel in there. Nice light-headed buzz after third or fourth sip. Very relaxing. I paired it with a RA Superiores. Perfect match for strength and flavor. All around, really enjoyable two hours away from the hell of my life! LOL! :) Also, thanks to this great thread, I'm really looking forward to Evan Williams 9 Year, and Elijah Craig Barrel Strength. That looks like it packs a punch.

You know guys this may just be the perfect bourbon for a Nicaraguan cigar. The sweet candied oaky notes of the bourbon contrasts beautifully with the spicy notes of the Nicaraguan puro. The results are just sublime.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I'm still learning the ins and outs of matching my bourbon with my cigars. I'm going to try Four Roses this weekend (first time for me) any cigar pairing suggestions?

Not technically a bourbon since it was aged part of the time on Apple wood. Distilled at Belmont Farm Distillery in Va. Same place where Tim Smith's Climax moonshine is distilled. Pretty good stuff. The screw on cap turned me off at first but the first sip made up for it. Smooth and more smoky than most bourbons with just a hint of the Apple wood tartness. Price wasn't bad at $31.

Curious as to what that is supposed to do.

Lol I'm not really sure what there purpose was with the experiment. It's good bourbon and cool to try some of the the really limited releases but for the price, I would still pick up Blantons or Hudson Baby Bourbon first.

I have to have you, Cindy, and Matthew over soon; you'll have to try some and let me k ow what you think.
