  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So, i've been smoking every day at lunch to make it through dozens of ssmples and im starting to realize that the moisture level of the tobacco is paramount to acheiving a tasty bowl.

My question is, what do you guys do to combat the lack of time/space to dry out a bowl? Stick to blends that are naturally drier, or have you developed a way to get this done easily while in the car, at work, etc.?

I've started smoking a pipe a while back so I don't blow through a bunch of cigars throughout the day. I've noticed the moisture problem too. Never heard of using a microwave. Hugh interesting for sure. Thanks

Ive done the pack it that morning thing and then smoked at lunch. Recently I've started setting out enough for a bowl when I first wake up, lighting up for the ride to work, and then finishing up on my 30 minute lunch break. Seems to work well and is still quite tasty. I guess that process doesn't really work well if you don't smoke in your car.

If you pack just 1/2 a bowl and smoke it for lunch n tap all remaining tobacco out when done, how much moisture do you have left? And after what period of time?

I haven't tried it myself, but some guys have success zapping it in the microwave for a few seconds.
I've microwaved tobacco on a paper towel for 8-12 second with good results. It heats it up slightly and as it cools there's just enough evaporation to improve the smokabilty. I think Munt does the same.
I've been doing this for the past year with excellent results. 10-12 seconds, pull it out, let it cool, load the bowl. I can't tell any difference in the flavor, I just don't have to plan ahead to air dry the tobacco first.
