I tend to think life is simpler now that:
  • I can use my voice to turn my lights on and off
  • I have A/C in my vehicle's seats
  • I can buy anything from Amazon with the push of a button
  • I never have to sharpen a pencil, just click on the end for more lead
  • A box in the kitchen cleans all of our dishes and a box in the laundry room cleans all of our clothes
  • I have bathrooms INSIDE my house
  • Any book I want to read or movie/tv show I want to watch is at my fingertips
  • our only option for Toliet Paper is no longer "sandpaper"
  • I can see if a restaurant sucks or not before eating there because of reviews
  • I can vHerf with dude-bros all over the world at the drop of a hat

Yep good old days, three channels and test patterns after the 10 pm news

We were poor, but honestly did not know it, as all our neighbor were struggling. Life was simple, food was from scratch, recall first TV DINNEr taste like S**T, just AWEFUL. That was before the RADAR Range early microwave ovens.

Jonas Salk frod a Vacine, and who ever heard of Polio.

Now we have AIDS, Cancer & Heart Disease kill more people than auto crashes, alcohol, or bullets.

When will they find a Cure or Precention for Cancer?

They will find a cure when it is advantageous and profitable for them to. Right now it is much more profitable to bleed the wallets of the unfortunate. There's also the fact that people are popping kids out like Pez and this is a hidden form of population culling.

...negative. "Back in the day..." as @SurfnSafari has brought up, it was common for people to have anywhere between 6-12 kids. As in, that was the norm. That is certainly not the norm these days; now I only gasp when I hear someone has 4 or more. haha

You know what was nice, going to get gas, a person in a white uniform asked Regular, or Ethel. How much, or how many gallons.

Plus they check your tire pressure, oil, and clean the windshield.

My year of birth was post World War Two, I have seen the world change for the good, and for the bad.

I have seen new technology I like, and reasons to hate technology.

Kids today IMHO are different they in many cases are addicted to electronic, do not use their brains, are not taught to think, and a lot are what comedians and society call typical millennia's.

Many schools no longer teach they indoctrinated. My youngest step grandson came home the other day after being taught about boycotting. He announced he was boycotting anything with “milk” in it. Mom & Dad said OK, after dinner he wanted Ice Cream from the refrigerator, yes he asks before taking, was told ice cream had milk in it, so his reply was the boycott was being called off.

A lot of kids today could not function for 72 hours with out their electronics, they can not do a simple math problems with out a battery or electric device. Can't make or count change when working fast food with out electronic help.

The scary part is they will be out leaders in 10 - 15 years, our doctors, nurses, etc.

Wonder how many people could keep busy, not going crazy, or taking their life by sucide if Cable TV, and the Internet went away for 30 days. We just had Am Radio, and bicycles, and feet to walk with. Yes we would have water, power, and gas both natural & gasoline.

I often wonder if all the "modern conveniences" we enjoy come at to great a cost?
I was being somewhat facetious with my response as I do think that "modern conveniences" have taken a cost on the world we know today. However, I don't think it's the modern convenience's fault - it's humans who have taken advantage without applying any self-control.

haha - I saw that! There are those out there with a crap-ton of kids, yes. But they aren't the norm. Of the couple's who do have a crap-ton of kids:
  • 10% of them have a TV show
  • 85% of them have some sort of weird tendencies
  • 5% of them are normal, functioning members of society

It's science. :)
