It wasn't my blend...
I replied to @Dominican56 recipe that peaked my curiosity.
I would assume it's leaf counts as that's how I tend to blend but some of the guys are a bit strict and go by weight, making it a truer ratio since leaf sizes vary so.
Edit:
In the end I believe we all need a reference to look back upon to make adjustments. Whether you weigh you leaf dry, at case ready to roll, or just count leaves, you will have a ratio for your blend. Then you can adjust if you decide to from there. This just gives a starting point

So this maybe should go in the blending thread but it feels more like an adventure in home rolling so here goes.
Y'all remember @blisscigarco talking about the CV Criollo Ligero and CVVAHS blend being the bomb? I agree with him and wanted to add my new T13 viso in there but it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. So....
I've rolled a blend with a CV Criollo Ligero all the way through, .5 leaf of CVVA Habano seco in the first half, and 2 T13 viso leaves in the second half.
Should be a good transition :)
What do you all think?

It looks really cool but I don't have a clue how it'll smoke! I haven't pulled the trigger on that T13 since I feel like there's mixed signals out there and I'm waiting to place an order and ask for a sample. Kinda moot, though, since every blend changes radically depending on the wrapper and I'm one of the few who use FXShade.

I have a lb I haven't cracked yet and have some FX shade I haven't used much of yet too. I have been meaning to get into it, but up to my elbows in club sticks...

I really enjoy the flavor the T13 brings. It does seem, on the two occasions I've had it with the CV Criollo ligero, to have a kick of nicotine. I'm not sure whether to credit one or the other leaf, or if it's putting the two together that kicks my butt. Or I'm just a light weight....

I've experienced some strange nic amplification phenomena myself, even just today, where I smoked the second version of two versions of a blend, each with two diff kinds of ligero in it. The one that had the weakest ligero (PC) and the least amount of the strongest (Nic Esteli) had the most kick. I couldn't get through the 54x5.5. Coulda been my personal chemistry in that moment, or could have been the natural variation of nic leaf-to-leaf across a given plant.

Tomorrow it will be one CVVAHS leaf all the way through with 2 T13 visos up front and a Cibao Valley Criollo ligero in the back half. I know as individual cigars, (1 CVVA Habano seco and 2 or 3 T13 visos) or (1CV Criollo ligero and .5 CVVA Habano seco) are both good smooth smokes. Now I want to make one cigar with all three leaves but having them equally distributed hasn't had the desired result. I'm thinking that although the ligero all the way through was good, I'm hoping the seco all the way through will be delicious. Plus it was a good transition...first obvious one I've rolled. I've had flavors pass in and out, but this was an honest transition...
Tell you all tomorrow!

Edit 7/6:
Didn't get to it today. Hopefully tomorrow...

It was better with ligero all the way through and the seco and viso split front and back halves.

I love beer so I brew my own, I love coffee so I roast my own, I love cigars and after seeing what @HIM* could roll at home and sampling some of his creations I decided I too would try to roll my own. I watched countless hours of videos on how to roll online before even placing an order for leaves. I wanted to keep my costs low in case I didn't like rolling or what I could make. I ordered a kit from wholeleaftobacco.com that they said included enough leaf to roll approximately 20 robustos which included Corojo wrapper leaf, Dominican binder, Corojo Seco, and Criollo Ligero. I added a pound of PA Oscuro binder that turns out to be mostly wrapper grade to play around with the blend a little, you can't see in the pictures but this leaf has a ton of mineral sparkle. Total cost including shipping for everything was a little over $60. I went out to Walmart and bought a metal baking sheet for a rolling surface, some kitchen shears for trimming the ends of the sticks, and a pizza cutter to cut the leaf. I also bought fruit pectin (no sugar added) to mix with distilled water to make cigar glue. I am far from an expert as my pictures will show but it has been fun so far. A thread like this is pointless without pictures so here we go
BrewinHooligan, I'm in your boat brother. I love beer so I brew a lot of it, I love coffee so I converted an old popcorn popper, I love shooting guns so I reload my own rounds. Well, I also love cigars so now after seeing your beautiful smokes on HBT, I have 100 dollars worth of tobacco on the way. Trying to get started on the cheap, so I made a one dollar chavetta. Have some scrap wood laying around, so I made a mold. Seen a DIY tuck cutter had to make one with some scrap metal and wood I have laying around. What the heck is wrong with me? If I get divorced at least I'll have coffee, beer, smokes, and my guns to help me cope.
