Crossword puzzles, Bourbon and a cigar. Good way to avoid the heat of our summers. Stay busy until 2ish, then retreat into my airconditioned smoke room for a couple of hours. By the time I emerge it's cooled down and I can enjoy the rest of the day.

I used to try and incorporate cigars and pipe tobacco into everything and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.
I cannot imagine trying to smoke a pipe while doing yard work. The tongue bite I would get!

One secret to smoking a cigar in the yard: bigger ring gauge, longer cigars. I hardly ever smoke toros or larger, but always go for something bigger when doing yard work. The larger rg helps it to burn longer between puffs, and the longer length both keeps the smoke out of your eyes a bit, and provides a bit of cooling for the smoke.

The fishing I do is normally very involved. I may try some quicker smokes or cigarillo. I made the mistake of trying to smoke an AJ Fernandez New World while tarpon fishing with a buddy and when I finally got hooked up I thought I was going to die from all of the smoke I inhaled.
I enjoy cigar while sitting in the boat fishing lakes, we don't usually catch tarpon on Wisconsin lakes (or in the streams I fish for Salmon or Steelhead)! :cigar:
I do enjoy a pipe sometimes while fishing. If fishing in the rain or snow, i will often smoke a straight billiard pipe inverted!

I will say that it takes some concentration on the cigar to not over-puff while Steelhead or Salmon are on the line. But... there is often much "fishing" inbetween fish.

It just doesn’t work for me. If I am sitting at my work bench maybe. I tried mowing and it was just too much work. If I can’t enjoy the smoke why bother. I haven’t been fishing in a while and I can see how that might work especially while blue or channeling.

I've attempted to smoke and do yard work (mowing the lawn, leaf blowing etc) at the same time and I clearly can't multi-task. And with a 6 month old puppy in the mix, yeah not happening haha. But now that I have a ride on mower, once I get the thing up and running again, I'd like to take a stab at mowing and smoking.

I find myself enjoying a smoke either driving (to keep myself sane from the other idiot NY drivers who shouldn't be allowed to drive) or sitting down by myself listening to music, v-herfing or catching up with the news today. And of course, in good company too whether it be at home or at the local lounge.

I've smoked and fished but I don't get much enjoyment out of both at once. I find it to be more of a hassle especially if I hooked a decent fish ready for a fight. Crabbing on the other hand, I've done before with a cigar and it's not that bad. Piping though I found to be more of a PITA, especially when you're there when the winds are pretty high. I know there's the windcap's for the pipes but I'd rather have the cigar or nothing at all. Piping I find as more relaxing to do with nothing else.

A yard gar makes a two hour mowing job suck a lot less for me!!! Riding mower of course!!! As far a fishing goes, it depends on what you’re doing. Soaking baits on bottom waiting for a bite, yeah fire one up. If you’re gonna be doing a lot of casting, like bass fishing, or the bite is hot I’d just wait till I got done to smoke. I’ve smoked while doing both & even while paddling the kayak. The trick is to have an inexpensive cigar that you know you like but don’t mind tossing if necessary. Although, I don’t think I own a cigar that I wouldn’t toss for a 100+ lb tarpon!!!

Setting and relaxing is the best. I tried a cigar while fishing, didn't turn out so well. I bass fish so having the cigar in my mouth the whole time lead to drooling all over the place. Now I'll light one up to run across the lake, or just take a break from fishing. I tried while doing yardwork and also a no go.

I'm a little late to this one. But I agree. I have to chill when I'm smoking a cigar.

There were a couple times when I did masonry work that I smoked a couple Denobolis but I got pissed cus I couldn't enjoy them.

I may take up painting soon. I might try a cigar with that
