Condensation definitely can be a problem. If the level of the drink is below the rest the condensation is limited. After each puff I ran my finger along the rest before I put the cigar back and that seemed to keep the cigar dry between puffs.
Thank you, Bob.

Seems like something that would take my mind off the cigar (or the enjoyment, at least). Did you find that distracting?

With the warm weather coming, I usually start wandering away from whiskeys in favor of beers or rum. Time to take a hard look at the open table and decide which ones I want to keep around, and which I should target for termination. This Bond and Lillard is an easy target, being a 375ml.

Made at WT (but without Jimmy and Eddie Russell), it's a odd, ill-conceived corporate Campari idea. Msrp for this (and its twin release, Old Ripy, together called the Whiskey Barons series) is $50 for the 375... The series was a flop, so needless to say, I found this on 50% off sale. Still not cheap, but makes it a little easier to justify trying.

Tastes pretty good, actually. Not $100 a 750ml good, but drinkable. Very light color attributed to a charcoal filtration, but it's similar to the standard WT101 without the rough edges. Slight grain note that is quickly overwhelmed by a sweet carmel flavor. 7yrs, 100 proof. Enjoyable, but needs to leave the shelf...20190610_203017.jpg

It didn't distract from my enjoyment of the cigar but it was a distraction when it was time to sip my drink. If you don't have an ashtray or other place to put your cigar then it may come in handy, but otherwise it's really not that useful. I'd bet that many sales of this glass are to non-cigar smokers who buy this as a gift for a cigar-smoking friend or relative.

How many wives bought these cigar glasses for their husbands and fathers? Brilliant marketing plan, unique idea and you can solve your condensation problem by drinking your bourbon neat. My problem is as I drink the bourbon I tend to get more forgetful and end up burning either my beard or eyelashes!

Yeah I drink mine neat so wouldn’t be a problem. Ha, I can see that happening. The once you get about halfway you have to hold it separately anyway unless you don’t mind the ash and cherry on you glass.

$38 is a good deal. The only place I’ve seen it in Jersey is selling it for $44. It’s right on the edge of being worth it to me. A far cry from the $29 it was sold at not too long ago.

I thanked the store manager for not gouging us customers.
However, I may need a couple more tries. I realize everyone’s palate is different but I wasn’t all that impressed. It had a rather unique taste that kinda threw me off.

It's great at $30, solid at $40, but you get much higher than that, it not as special, relatively speaking. Remember, it's a single barrel product, so there will be variation. I had a LS with a pallet of HMcK last year. Tried several bottles and found one that was spectacular. Went back and bought 4 more from the same barrel. Unfortunately that's not an option anymore for HMcK, but it's a lesson on the SiB experience for any brand. They vary, and if opportunity allows, jump on a honey barrel when you find it.
