This year has been rough for me. I hung up my jerseys and caps, and haven't been following games for the last week or so. I don't know why, as I was a die-hard fan in the 100+ loss years. Something about the end of last season, plus the glaring inconsistencies this season are just so frustrating, and has made baseball fandom less fun. Having my night ruined because the Cubs suck is not the way I want to be, so I just hung it up for the year. I 100% do not expect a playoff berth for them, and if they do make it I probably won't watch a moment.

I hope that this off season we trade Bryant, Almora, Russell, Happ, Bote, Zo, Rizzo, Heyward. I want to keep Hendricks, Yu, Schwarbs, Baez, Contreras, Q, Castellanos.

So you think they should blow up the Cubs team? That surprises me. I was shocked when they gave Heyward $180M. He had a decent year this year, but he laid a LOT of eggs prior. Even after a decent year, no one will take over that contract.

@Old Smokey, if the Tigers couldn't win a WS with a rotation like Verlander, Scherzer, Price, Porcello and Sanchez, they';; be lucky to win 50 with this current lineup. Only saving grace is I only get to see them when they play the White Sox or are on MLB Network now and then.

Watching the Twins and Nationals as we speak. Haven’t seen a Twins team this good in 30 years. They have already broken the major league record for most team home runs in a season and there’s a good month left. It’s finally fun to watch baseball again!

I thought MLB Network only showed games and talked about the Yankees and Red Sux.

I'm more a Football fan but always a hometown fan. Haven't seen them mentioned at all in the thread so I'll just leave this here.

The Twins definitely have a shot at the WS with their Power but their pitching has been awful. The only hope is they get Sano, Marwin, Kepler, and Cave all healthy and they stay healthy. Losing Buxton for the year really sucks but he hasn't played much anyway. Pineda was one of the Twins best pitchers since the break and now he is out for the season. Gonna be exciting to see what they can do coming down the line. Some of these young guys they brought up are fun to watch.

Twins pitching is never GOOD. The Twins are great at finding young, CHEAP talent. Unfortunately once they get good they’re traded. This is the first year in a LONG time that the pieces have actually lined up for the most part.

This is my favorite ( along with March Madness) time of the year in sports.
Brewers/Cards start a 3 game series in StL starting tomorrow. Brew crew has won 7 straight so I expect it's gonna be good intense baseball. Fun stuff.

I am really pleased with the way the Cardinals have been playing. I hope they continue to build momentum and carry it into the
Post Season.
The Cardinals/Cubs 4 game series was about as exciting regular season series I can remember. I won't rub in the results, as I am sure the Cubs fans here are disappointed. I will leave it at that.

Actually, I'm not mad at the Cardinals at all. As far as I'm concerned the Cubs have been out of it for the last couple weeks. Any real Cubs fan could see it coming. So to me this past set was everything the Cubs deserved and I HATE THE CUBS THEY SUCK. Lol

I am only mildly disappointed.

Some years are like that. There seems to be an infinite number of excuses to fail and just as many reasons to succeed. But the fact seems it just wasn't meant to be when things go South.
My guys haven't made the playoffs since 2015. The NL Central is a tough competitive division. At least neither of us are Pirate or Reds fans. They gotta think things look pretty bleak in the Central for them.

I dunno, the reds might be coming up big next year. Cubs are done, though. Fire sale this winter, full rebuild coming is my guess. Milwaukee probably has one more year.

Once a Yankees fan always a Yankees fan.

Picked em up as a kid during the Mattingly days (watching my dad play beer league as a lefty first baseman - i was naturally drawn to mattingly as well). Never put em down (thankfully haven't had to!)

This season has been brutal for injuries but it's been awesome to see the next man up mentality!
