I leave the cello on for a few days after I put 'em in my humidor, but it comes off after that. I really don't know why. Maybe it just gives me another chance to putz with my cigars, which is fun.

I used to remove the cello immediately but now I leave it on to protect the wrapper. Also, I live in a very dry climate and sometimes the wrappers dry out very quickly if I don't smoke them immediately after removing from the humidor. The cello seems to keep them stable until I smoke them.

i voted: depends on the cigar. not that i leave my good sticks in cello and take the bad ones out or vice versa. if a stick comes with cello i leave it on. if it doesnt, oh well. actually as ive collected more and more sticks, i have found that the cello protects the stick quite well....

I have a very large humidor with about 400 loose sticks in it; and I do quite a lot of rummaging around. Without cello the wrappers would all be severely damaged. Those that don't come in cello I usually put in cello or wrap in tissue. <Not toilet paper!>

Now below is what I *WAS* going to post as a reply:

Hell! I need mah seegars to be nekkid! I need 'em to be nekkid as in the "full frontal nudity" type of way! Son, I need mah seegars so completely nekkid that I remove the wrappers and let 'em sit there in their binders only! <G>

If they come with the cello on. I leave the cello on. This is the way the factory would store them, so I will keep them the same way.

Most of the cigars I smoke do not come in cello, the rest I take of before putting the in the humi.To me it is almost like taking off your shoes at a friends house.

Please God. Make this end. :hammersma
Yes my son... I'll send out the "Squids Of Doom" Death Squad (Or would that be a Squid Squad?) to deal with all these people who will simple NOT stop asking this hideously overchewed dead horse of a question.

Am I the only one who takes the time to cello all my uncello'd sticks? :scratchhe
I'll do that with singles. Boxes of nekkid cigars get a tissue wrapping. I put a computer printer label around the foot of every cigar with the following information:

Cigar: El Rey del Mundo
Size: Choix Supreme 5.0x48
Wrapper: Cuban
Vendor: C.O.H.
Stored: 2004/01/06

This may seem like a lot of work, but it makes for the easy finding of information. Here's a picture...
