I'm telling you right now, Wild Turkey 101 is a great bourbon. Obviously there are better bourbons out there, but don't sleep on 101. It's no slouch. It's ALWAYS overlooked because of it's price and reputation for exactly what you said!

Additionally, just about everything Wild Turkey Distillery does is fantastic.

I know it's almost impossible to find near MSRP in Chicago, Jeremy.

I will likely give the JDSBBP a try tonight. I missed grabbing a store pick a couple months ago before I knew what they were, hoping they come back around. I am anyway, my wallet, not so much.
The Gold label BP regular off the shelf is amazing . Maybe one of the best things that’s regularly available. The store pick single barrel is excellent too. I never would have guessed JD was capable of making such great stuff.

Wonderful package arrived today from a buddy in AZ. He scored 8 for $39 each at Costco there. Everything at retail was gone here in minutes, and $140 is the cheapest I've seen in a store at secondary yet. I am hearing it's the best batch since 12.

Please let me know if he ever sees any more bottles around that price Tom and he’s willing to help another brother. I’d love to get my hands on one or a few if he’s willing.

Last night had some 9 year old Knob Creek and 13 year old Whistlepig single barrel store picks.

@Hendy , if I come across an ECBP C920 at MSRP you want me to grab it for you?
That would be wonderful. I reciprocate so if there's something you are searching for I'm all ears. Thanks and let me know.

1st shot neat.

Lotta spice. Ice sphere next time.
After the bottle has been open for a few weeks, try a bit more neat or with a couple drops. My Granny's changed fairly drastically after being open several weeks (for the better).

Tried the sample I got last night, and it was very good. Some of the attributes of Stagg Jr, although not as nice a "mouth feel" or finish. I would definitely grab a pick if one of my locals gets one.

I don't think I'll need to tell him (or any of my friends) to grab all they can if they see that price (or even $49 or $59) and no limit. I think he sent a bunch of friends a bottle, but if he gets more I'll tell them my young friend is jonesin' for one.

That would be wonderful. I reciprocate so if there's something you are searching for I'm all ears. Thanks and let me know.
Absolutely! Nothing I can think of for myself right now, I'd just be happy to get the ECBP onto your bar.

@Hendy Good stuff, I thought it was a love note from your wife, pumpkin is a step up from what my wife calls me!

You definitely have a couple bottles I wish I could find.
Trust me, none were easy. Going through the same struggles most of us have. It's a hot mess.

Bourbon buying is a hot mess. Wish craft beer would take the spotlight again for awhile, or even rum or tequila.

:Last night I finished off a 13 year WP single barrel SP and cracked a new, different WP (15 year 7 month single barrel pick).

The new one (Bacon) has a finish that reminds me of wasabi....luckily more the flavor than that much heat. And I still have a backup on the Bazooka.

I hear ya on the "fads" but we've already passed the craft beer craze and we are now in the bourbon fad faze. I see movement towards Rum so I'm hoping they (profiteers) move along.

I dig the WP's.

Agreed, I wish I had been buying the bourbon for 20 years instead of a few.

I've got 5 different WP single barrels ( one is actually a 2 barrel blend), I'd be happy to have you by for a tasting.
