Finally got my hands on a pour of the CYPB. It's good, don't get me wrong but not $600 a bottle good. I'd take W12 before all day. Nice cherryness to it and a great drink, but...

Wifey and I finally got out into public and hit a dive bar called "The Painted Lady" in Hamtramick here. Can't say the best part of Detwa, but cool and a crazy bourbon list.

Nice rotation! You gotta tell us more about that Walkers DeLuxe? I don’t think I’ve ever seen another bottle of it other then the 1959 (plus 8) bottle that one of my cigar buddies brought into the lounge to share. It was from his fathers collection, and was still sealed. The taste was described as liquid brown sugar. The cap did not fair to well upon opening, quite literally disintegrated in my hand. Luckily for him that day I brought in a bottle of Evan Williams BiB, so he took home my cap lol

That's awesome! This thing was in my parents basement for decades! 1979. It was actually opened for decades too but it was still pretty good. Very cool experience

How cool! Good thing it was the basement and not the attic lol. I’m just amazed how little the bottle design changed over 20 years. I had to look pretty closely.

Booker's Annis' Answer last night. Not among my favorite Booker's, more heat than flavor on this batch.

That was my very first Booker’s I owned back in July 2016 when it was still a pretty new release. As you can probably tell by the Bourbons to try list I was still pretty green in the hobby.

I noticed that too with the photo you sent! They look identical. Yes, very lucky. In a basement, IN a liquor cabinet, so it had a lot of protection.

The only difference I can see with mine is the font for “Walker’s”, Bourbon being in big letters, and then just the small text being somewhat different, plus more gold lettering.

Well, you're sure not green anymore, Matt. ;)

1792 Full Proof (sp) and Booker's Kathleen's Batch were last nights pours. Neither was bad, neither was outstanding. I think I better go with a Booker's I know I love next.

Haha thanks. Since you’re an Illinois man does Walker’s still have a presence anywhere? A quick search online and they look like they’ve been closed longer then I’ve been alive lol. Also the prices for this once inexpensive stuff is through the roof on remaining bottles.

Added these babies to my rotation today. The Sazerac is for my cigar lounge trips. I admittedly wasn’t a fan the first time I had it, but hoping that changes with a cigar pairing

Not so lonely anymore.
