The guy at my smoke shop said it is as good as vector fuel, So anyone heard of this type of fuel and is it any good?? (cuz I did buy some, Now I hope I did the right fuel)....

Make sure that it is triple filtered. You should always use a high quality fuel. Last night, there was a guy who came into our local B&M, was talking about his crappy lighter, that it didn't light properly. He pulled it out, to show us, and then asked if we thought it was the fuel, to which we asked him what he was using. He indicated an inexpensive brand. Owner of the shop took the lighter, purged it, and filled it with some quality fuel that he has, and the lighter lit first try, and every try after that. Needless to say, these demonstrations of quality vs. inexpensive are always entertaining.

More amusing is that one of his buddies was messing around trying to get a zipper on his jacket opened for about 25 mins, apparently his keys were stuck in there. Came over to us, to ask to borrow a knife to cut the pocket open, when I asked if he minded if I tried to open the pocket, he said sure. Needless to say, I had it opened, uncut in about a minute. Gotta love it.

Damn I wish I had read this thread 20 mins ago. My 2nd $15 colibri in 5 months went dead on me. Same sympoms as Donk's. So I fiddle around w/ the flint and the next thing you know I hear metal pieces rattling around inside....

I bought a Blue Rhino Afterburner from Heartfelt for 25 bucks.
It's been working flawlessly and it's really ergonomic because the flames bend upwards. Not sure how long it will last but the quality seems really good for the money.

edit:
Is image linking OK BTW?

I ended up buying a colibri firebird, nice lighter, less than $20. Use only Colibri fuel or vector fuel, have had no problems in any of my lighters now. I guess it was the fuel I was using all along. huh go figure.

I think i'm going to order that Xikar executive tommorow. And buy some vector fuel......i'm still PO about that damn colibri. Actually took the thing and shot it with my .22.
Be aware that the Xikar Executive has a fairly small fuel tank, so you will have to refuel fairly frequently. Good lighter, other than that.

I'd stay away from Colibri fuel. Stick with Vector or Lava (or DuPont if you want to pay $$$).
