  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Popped into Binny's, the manager asked me if I wanted the new Stagg. They didn't even put it on their customer service counter. "Of course", I said. I finished my last Stagg (24D) a few weeks back so this was good timing.

25A, nice proof on that bottle. I thought those were from earlier this year. I think that manager really likes you. It's that kind of bourbon love we all need.

i'm just here taking notes...

Matt, if you did a little bit of hunting in your area. I think you would run into some seriously good bottles. Buffalo Trace just did a small drop down in Florida so I think you will have a good shot at finding some stuff up your way.

I still can pick up a bottle but saw American Highway Straight Bourbon Reserve on sale for under $50 so that went into the cart.

The story of the American Highway is pretty interesting, Jim, I'll be curious to see how you like it.

I have moved the 2XO Sneakerhead to the "2nd drink of the night" slot. I like it though it doesn't match up to the Vinyl blend. So I will be drinking it often, it just won't be the star of the show.

Last night was a 155 proof night. And then a pour of 2XO.

Tom, 155 proof?! Serious hug territory.
I've had a couple of Hazmats where the depth of flavor was so amazing, Jim, you hardly notice the proof. This one is probably the next category down, tastes great despite the heat.

I bought my first ever bottle of Angel's Envy today.

I've tried (and hated) their port wine finished, ice wine finished, crapola finished bourbons. Wouldn't buy a bottle on a bet.

This one is unfinished (yahoo!!) and bottled in bond. I actually liked the sample I tried at Binny's a lot.

I drink the port finish when I want an easy proof to sip. I also use it for cooking so it doesn't sit around not doing something. A BIB with no finish sounds interesting
