  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I think I'm going to do this again. After the holiday I realized I spent a little too much and I've been wanting to get a few new tools for the garage.

Anyways, my plan is to go through April without purchasing anything else. I have make 2 exceptions 1) the Review Contest I'm apart of with Benzo... and 2) if a box of 858 SG's happen to pop up at the right price. Other than that it is no more buying for a while.

Wish me luck, I only have 16.5 weeks to go!!!

Good luck, I have a hard time not buying smokes on impulse, kind of why I joined the review contest. Hopefully I can satisfy that craving with that for a couple of months.

I think I've got the budget thing down. Just reallocating spending on other items. I've been wanting to get a Band Saw and a Planer for a while. Plus I'm planning to pay off my remaining student loans this year. I've figured if I don't buy cigars for the next 4 months I'll be able to get the Band Saw and Planer without dipping into my other projects.

Once I move into the new house, I will be doing the exact opposite. I am buying a new humidor, a cooler, and a shiteload of boxes for the new MAN Room! Anyway, good luck not buying anything brother.

Not sure at the moment, but right now I'm leaning toward a one of the following 14" Saws: Powermatic, Jet, Delta

If I had to pick one today I would go with the Powermatic, but I'm still reading the about them and making sure it is what I want.

As for the Planer, I'm looking at the Dewalt DW735, but I have also been looking at the Jet JPM-13CS. I just think the Jet might be a little much for what I would use it for, plus if I bought the Dewalt I could get a couple sets of Jet parallel clamps.

I'm with ya Tex!

I bought so many cigars in 2007, that I've decided to limit my box buys in 2008 to a handful of select purchases that I know will be *great*.

It seems that there are many "so-so" $100-$200 new products out there, all being hyped/marketed like they're *great*, but they're not great, just above average. I always feel burned.

I've also sworn off cheap bundles that are just ok smokes. With time for only one cigar per night, I rarely reach for a cheap low quality bundle smoke any more. CBid is also a thing of the past for me.

In 2008, I'm gonna spend more attention on the smoking, less on the buying.

You guys should start giving plasma!!!!
You get $40 your first couple times, and like $30-35 thereafter! And you can go twice a week!!!

That's how I fund my 5 Guys habit.

I guess I could sell my plasma twice as often if I had an alternate identity. :thinkidea

I am in the same situation. I have a pile of invoices from my cigar deliveries in 2007 that I will not even add up, since it would be so much easier to weigh them. I also have to stop CBid and buying unknown or lesser or untested (untasted?) bundles, since I have enough to last me for years, From now on in I will only buy quality boxes, and will stop buying the specials. If I do not know for a fact that something is fine, no purchase. I will do no more experimenting by mail order.

Brave words, now we will see if I can make it come true in 2008. Good luck to all in your similar endeavors.
