  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

My point being, most people could care less about gammar/punctuation/paragraphs on a blog...if they don't care for it, they click that magic red X.

What some of the members are saying is that it is quite difficult to comprehand some of your posts due to the spelling and mostly for me, the lack of paragraphs. I, myself, have had to read through them a couple of times to make sure I am understanding what you are saying. Not a big deal on a blog but tends to be a hinderance on a website where someone has to reply to what you have said.

I think most here are saying that it would be a lot easier to reply to your comments/questions if they where able to more easily and fully understand your posts.
Yup what David said.

I will use ieSpell and try harder to separate my thoughts, thanks for the positive criticism.

OOOOH I miss those. I still have some of the satin labels. I think bonitasmokeshop might have a box or two left. They still have some Torano Tributes from 03/04.

Looks pretty clear to be plume. The age of the release would also be a good indicator.

Ya'll fell for this hook-line-sinker. You can't claim to run a cigar magazine and be this in the dark about cigars.

I'm thinking about some of the CEO's, CFO's, COO's and especially business owners that I have know and worked with over the years, and I'd have to say from my experience, this happens a fair bit.

I terminated a consulting contract with a company once because the owner/expert was so hard to work with, unwilling to change or look into the mirror. He was the main problem and finally ran the business into the ground a few years later, screwing up his kids stake and putting about a hundred people out of work.

Actually, I've stayed with my current company and turned down numerous other offers from the competition, because the company I'm with does have good people at the top.

And this isn't a reference on this guy. It would be a very elaborate ruse, if that is what it is. I think it's more likely he is the editor of the magazine. He's not claiming to be an expert, and hopefully has hired some people who are. I know some very good business people who are not experts in the fields of the companies they run, but hire and delegate well. I hope he is the later.

OK gents. Here's my take on Mr. Cote, and i ndon't care what kind of tensions or past realtions there may be with other members. His site is what he says it is. He's taken marketing and public announcements from various cigar manufacturers and distributors and posted it all on one place on his website. It appears as though when a manufacturer releases as statement, he simply copies and pastes it on his website. In a previous post he has clearly stated that he only provides an avenue for people to gather info about/from the mfg's. I would suggest to Marc that he remind people of that fact...he's not writing anything that i can see. I didn't completely scour his june or july newsletters, so i may have missed something, but if you check out his site, it's clear that the possibility of him NOT being an expert is very real. Any ol Joe can gather info from the net and put it all into one place.

Just my .02.

Just because he has a cigar related website doesn't make him an expert.

No offense to anyone.

i'm done on this topic.

Maybe the photo is fuzzy but they look just like the other ones
Yep, pics could be better, the one on the left is almost white in person and the one on the right has much more plume than you can pick up in the picture, but notice the even coating of white crystals, instead of the white dots on your sticks. Common mistake, years ago a cigar shop told me some mold was plume, and I believed it for some time until I learned a bit more about the subject.

The links that were posted earlier in this thread to vitolas.net really show the difference quite well.

so thank you Ambassadors once again for selling me mold ridden sticks,
Please keep in mind, EVER smoke you are ever sold is "mold ridden". There are mold spores in every, single, solitary cigar you have or have ever had. It's simply a fact of life. Every cigar has the potential to grow mold, it is just a matter of the right conditions. That isn't to say that some won't have more than others.

So unless you purchase a box of cigars and open it immediately to find mold, you haven't really been sold "mold ridden sticks". Also, based on your pictures, I would say that was very early state. Just wipe off the mold with a soft cloth and smoke away. No harm, no foul.

It all revolves around the conditions the sticks are kept in.

ETA: damn, I didn't realize this was that "done". I clicked on the first page and responded...not paying attention.

I'm guessing Pop up blocker.
Yes of course, and some would say that even Bad publicity is good. I have to disagree. There are so many places online to find info, that a site that is hard to navigate, view will not be revisited. You may get a bunch of hits right away, but people will stop going.
