  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thanks for the heads up, I grabbed my first Opus at the B&M for $13. I asked the guy if they're ready to smoke or if I should sit on it for a while. He said to sit on it at least 6 months. What do you guys think?

I've had probably 10 Fuente Fuente from this release and they are smoking wonderfully. What we need to understand is that 6 months is not aging a cigar, after 6 months, a cigar is just starting to rest. Opus tobacco is cured in rum barrels, then rolled into cigars and aged for a year. However we also need to understand that the tobacco used for this years Opus is not just a year old, more likely than not, it's from somewhere around the 2000 crop. Smoke that some bitch, they'll make more and six months will do nothing to change that cigar, 5 years will, however, do you really want to wait 5 years to smoke that Opus? And if you do, how will you know how it compares to a freshie?

Volusianator - That's what I needed to hear too!

I picked up three Perfection X's & was wondering if I should let them sit for a while.

Well - now I think I'll be firing one up this weekend!

That is always what I have gone by, I let most all of my new purchases sit to mellow out in my Hummi for as long as possible to let them get to the RH that I prefer. As far as aging I let thoes sit for a least a year before I consider them aging.
