  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I got 6 La Flor Dominica Cheroots from Uncelnino in a trade today.

These are 100% ligero; ugly little powerhouses. I couldn't resist lighting one up right after lunch.

No need for a clipping, these are open at the tapered end. My first impression is that it really reminds me of the Cameroon Cabinet (without the cameroon). I am really impressed with the flavor & strength for such a little thing. It definitly has the signature 'sweet-green-apple' taste.

The draw is perfect and ash is a white & light grey combo with no flaking going on. In fact it held for about an inch & a half before I 'flicked' for fear of spilling on the keyboard.

It started getting pretty resinous at about the half-way point, so I bit the tip off cleanly and it gave me something to more securely hold onto in my mouth. Having such a small stick dangling is not something I'm used too with cigars. I'm used to a little more substance/ girth, Haha...

I'm glad I traded for it, but at the price point, it's honestly a little steep.

If Litto put these into regular production for about half the cost, this would make an excellent after-lunch regular to burn.

I'll hold onto a few if I'm able, to see how these fair with a bit of rest.

Right at the end it gets a little tart, but overall a very pleasant experience at just over 35 minutes.

I guess a rating of 87 would be my verdict.
Tasty!

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for doing the review. With the price point, i can see your point, howeve, you have to keep in mind that you are paying to get a stick from one of the most respected men in the business that is exclusive to one shop on the face of the earth. With that exclusivity I am willing to make the payment anytime. These are a great, flavorful, powerful little stick.

For what its worth, I clip a very little bit of the end before burning to prevent the halfway recut.

Keep the comments coming though, this is good to hear.

Agreed - while you are paying more for the 'rare' factor, it is a very good stick.
Thanks for the trade again Dave.
I see that yours arrived as well - I KNOW you will enjoy those!

Yes, will get up some pics and a trader note in a few. Thanks bro.

The rare factor is definitely part of it, however, i truly believe it is a really good stick, it is one of my favorites. I don't always want a stick that lasts two hours but don't want to sacrifice body or flavor because of it, the cheroot is the perfect answer IMO.

There's enough ligero in there for 2 or 3 DL cigars. I would imagine it's a little more expensive to use all ligero for a cigar.

Hmmm. These sound pretty good. I will have to keep a look out for a few of these.
