  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. It's hard to find many of the beers mentioned here due to the crazy liquor laws.

I did find some Sierra Nevada Summerfest to try. I also picked up a beer from Left Coast called Tangerine. Grabbed some Pacifico too. Mexican beer goes well with summer. Those should get me through the weekend.

Where is "here"? PA has crazy liquor laws but lots of different beer is pretty easy to get a hold of at the right distributor.

I forgot to mention New Belgium (makers of Fat Tire). Fat Tire is always good but they have some nice seasonals. Skinny Dip & Sunshine Wheat will be excellent for summer.

Sierra Nevada Summerfest!! Best summer beer I've found in MS so far.
Picked myself up a six pack yesterday morning when I got off work. Not too bad! If I'm barbecuing in the summer I got to have Barrilito. Special occasions call for Dupont saison.

Don't really have a "favorite" summer beer. I do tend to drink more wheat beers in the summer and porters/stouts in the winter. I really like the unfiltered wheat beer from Boulevard Kansas City and also the wheat beer by Schlafly, both Missouri breweries.

Flying Dog "In Heat Wheat" is probably my favorite but just like Dan stated I tend to drink more wheat beers in the summer and the unfiltered the better!

The wife and I just picked up some Oberon and it's good but I'm not too keen on it. I'm going to take the yeast from the bottles to have a sample of the yeast strain Bell's uses to make beer. I am making a clone recipe of their Two Hearted in the coming weeks.

Finally.. someone is talkin' some sense! Dupont Saison and Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux are some ideal summer beers... and if Belgians are not your thing, Pliny the Elder is the best double IPA on the planet.

Don't mention the Pliny! It seems to be the most coveted beer right now by our east coast brothers. Being in San Diego, you can seem to find it almost everywhere on tap for $5 a pint. Great summer beer, and totally sessionable even at 8%.
