So....ever since trying my first Pliny the Elder almost 6-8 months ago now....I've grown fascinated with Hops. Coincidentally, it would appear I started my IPA journey at the proverbial peak, at least it seems. Pliny has become the standard to which I judge all other IPA's. The Hops are so fresh and crisp, that I've tried to find others that I enjoy as much, and that are more readily available.

Here's a few that I've grown to really enjoy:

Sierra Nevada Torpedo - easiest access, and a very good one IMO
Dogfish Head 90 minute - although the latest batch seems more malt than hops from the first few 4 packs i'd purchased (60 minute is just ok to me..but certainly more hop than malt)
Green Flash Brewing West Coast IPA
Victory Brewing Hop Devil - liked this more than their Hop Wallop
Flying Dog Double Dog Double PA - probably my favorite of this list..and at 11.5%, it is no joke. Snake Dog IPA is also good, but no where near this one.
Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA (*Edit to add this one.....forgot about it, and really like this one as well).

So, what are some other IPA's that you BOTL beer-drinkers love??

And another note....before this love of IPA's, I was a wheat/amber lover. Now, I find myself craving hops, and can't enjoy these beers as much, or at all. Is it true....once you go hops......you never go back??

Wow, tough question right here... I'd have to go with: Lagunitas IPA

Three Floyd's Alpha Kind is also really hoppy for the abv, especially.

Hop Czar - Bridgeport - The best 6-pk. IPA out there, IMO.

Living in WA I've got great access to all things Ninkasi, and I think the Tricerahops is one i've overlooked....so I need to give that a go.

And I recently had Hercules Double Pale Ale from Great Divide, but found the Flying Dog to be a little less sweet, and heavier on the hops, which I prefer....but it was still very good.

Definitely . A few other favorites include New Belgium's Ranger IPA, Boulevard Single Wide IPA, and you already mentioned the DFH 90 Minute...damn, now you got me thinking about hops .

Like you mentioned, Sierra Nevada Torpedo is one that is great tasting, avail here in AZ, and doesn't break the bank. While not technically an IPA, their pale ale actually has a cleaner hop taste IMHO and I enjoy it more. I grew up with my dad farming hops in Yakima, WA so I've tasted my fair share of hopped-up brews, lol.

We live in a fantastic area for sampling IPA's and many, many other great brews! Have you been out to the Fort George Brewery in Astoria? They have a really great IPA as well.

Haven't done that before.....

Last time I went to Astoria, it was for the Shakespeare festival, and I was with my English Lit class in highschool....

Might be fun to go back and watch a play or two now that I can appreciate it, as opposed to sleeping through them...LOL.

....And I can sample some great beer to boot it sounds like!

My favorite "close to home" IPA's....

Laurelwood Workhorse IPA
Alameda Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA
Deschutes Hop Trip (although this is an American Pale Ale, still as a nice balance of hops)

A lot of good ones have already been posted. Just go to the booze store and buy everything they have. When you are done with that, go to another store and look for new stuff. If you haven't noticed, hops create HORRIBLE farts, so be aware!!

Only one here that i've tried is the Port Brewing Wipeout IPA, and that was indeed delicious.......I'll keep an eye out for these others. As well as start paying attention to the farts thing, as I hadn't noticed....LOL.
