• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    10ct. Boxes

I really like the ER's being in a 10 'cause it makes them a tad more affordable. I like the 3-4-3 boxes a lot more than the flat boxes of 10.

    NC vs CC

To echo some of the sentiments, the US market is large but it's not huge. I don't see struggling B&M's suddenly increasing facings just because the embargo is lifted. Also, I believe that there is already a good number of smokers with the forbidden fruit already in hand so maybe a smaller...

Whatever happend to Pepin's Pelo de Oro?

I'm very interested in this release though. Nestor & Pepin? It's got to be one helluva smoke, but have to wonder about using criollio, habana & corojo. It kinda seems like there is going to be a lot of flavor trying top out the others...but that's why I'm here & Nestor & Pepin are making the smokes.

Whatever happend to Pepin's Pelo de Oro?

Hmmmm...San Vicente what? San Vicente is a region not a tobacco. If it's Olor, I'm staying really really far away from it.

    Cigar & Scotch..?

Can't go wrong with The Balvenie doublewood. Caol Ila is nice but sometimes an Islay is not for everyone. If you look in my stash, the majority of them have been finished in Sherry casks. Something about the sherry finish goes well with with me & a cigar.

    Freezing Cigars DPG's Opinion

I agree with Jason, agree to disagree on a lot of things. The only problem I have ever had with freezing a box is an 'off ' taste afterwards. Even using vendors that freeze cigars, the boxes have a different mustiness to them. I don't freeze anything unless I have to. To me, it's like putting on...

    think and opine

Completely agree with the above to some degree...Some cigars used to age better than todays counterparts because of the different strains of tobacco used. The major players in the Nicaraguan & Honduran factories want a consistent cigar that everyone can count on being the same no matter when it...

Summer BOTL Blind Habanos reviews cigar No.2

Right on Kevin! I could have sworn all that wood I smoked was a Hoyo...but after seeing what it was I just smacked my forehead! Cool that across the board (well, discount Rob's score LOL) it ranked an 88-89 that's pretty consistent.

How Much Of Your Purchase Is Influenced By BOTL

Whether it's from this board or another, word of mouth is still a good way to hear about something. I like the reviews that the brothers do here because where I'm at, there isn't a B&M to go make a run and get something to try. Reading about the newest and the greatest is the only way I hear...

    Cigar Beetle Guide

right on Cliff. Since enough (insert high % here) tobacco used in making cigars carries eggs to some degree knowing the OP as a guideline helps but once there is an outbreak damage has already been done. I have never (knock on wood) had an outbreak but have received vintage boxes of Fonseca's...
