• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Putting life into perspective...

I'm so sorry to hear this, bro. My wife and I found out two weeks ago that we are expecting our first child. The doctor also found some lumps in her breast, but the tests showed they were just oddly shaped fat cells. I'm hoping it's the same with your wife as well. I'll tell you what I told...

    Firearm Podcasts?

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts in my daily life, since I drive for a living. I listen to a podcast called "Gun Dudes", and really enjoy it, very funny and very informative, highly recommended. Anybody else listen to some good firearm podcasts out there, perhaps some hidden gems?

    Gun in humidor?

I wouldn't put a firearm in a humidor, for all of the above listed reasons... Hoppes #9 cigar...mmmmmmm. But, they make very low priced single pistol sized easy access safes that may be mounted anywhere, under your bed, wall, top of the humi, anywhere. This would be much better for your cigars...

    So what'cha readin'???

I drive 70 hours a week, and when I'm not driving I'm trying to sleep for my next shift, or taking care of my pregnant wife. Therefore, I listen to a lot of books on tape rather than music, since I used to read quite a bit and this is the only way I get to go through the books I love/want to...

    Sterilization question

Thanks for all the advice guys, and I'm going to try all of it. But, it may very well be a lost cause, I've had the thing airing out with baking soda in it for several days now, and it still smells so strong that I can smell it in that part of my house. Not that it's a bad smell, it's actually...

    Sterilization question

Should I or shouldn't I? Heh, kidding. I got a 100 cigar desktop humidor from a buddy that used it for his pipe tobacco, and since he enjoys his aromatics, it smells like... whatever you can dream of, mainly cherries and the like. Obviously my cigars aren't going anywhere near this thing...

    Walther P99 vs. Glock 17

My daily carry is a Kimber Ultra Carry in .45. Small gun, but it just feels so good, especially when shooting. The recoil is very easy to manage on a 1911. My wife prefers the Kimber over any other handgun she has shot, and I've had her shoot everything in 9mm, .40 and .45, she is very petite...

The World as we've known it has Ended...

Colt M16A4 - Easy to use, easy to clean, very accurate, wide availability of parts and ammo, iron sites are just fine for me, plenty accurate for that 5.56 ammo. Savage .300mag - Once again, durable and reliable, powerful enough to kill anything the 5.56 has trouble with. Leupold VX-3L 3.5x10...

    First range day

Keep your finger OFF the trigger until that firearm is pointed downrange AT the target and you're ready to shoot, otherwise keep that index finger firmly planted on the frame away from the trigger. http://www.nrahq.org/education/guide.asp Follow those rules - except always treat every firearm...
