• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    2004 LfD Chisel Maduro

I will take pictures...I already took a few but the battery needs charging. I won't have picks of the first pinch, but will have more in the time it takes to smoke it.

    2004 LfD Chisel Maduro

I'm building the suspense. I bought a box from a great guy here and was going to wait until they had an even 5 years on them, but I figure 2004-2009 IS 5 years. Review to follow later.

Can't smoke Acid cigars any more.

I did with Lars tetens. My buddy still gets them and I have bought a few 5'ers over the years...but can't stand hi-karate in my cigar anymore.

What do you do with all the fake Cuban cigars you get?

I haven't had a good fake in a long time, bt I smoked them anyways. Not a bad cigar but it was clearly a honduran.

    Padron Question

volado is just kind of a filler leaf without that much flavor. It helps keep a straight burn too. Seco is the one that has the most flavor and ligero is strentgh. If Pete rolls a cigar with little volado, he'll end up with a flavorsome cigar (which he has done time & time again) Volado is very...

    Tonight's Dinner 1/11/09

Tasty! I made smoked Haddock(thyme, basil, white pepper), but the Mrs. smothered it in tartar sauce. Next time I'll broil some nice romas with evoo & a little bit of basil and serve the fish on the tomatoes so she won't be tempted to drown the fish in tartar sauce.

    mmmmmmmmmm....that looks good!

    Padron Question

more/less tobacco has an effect on the cigar, but usualy the core blend is the same. Filler (volado) gets added to a lot of N/C's to boost girth without changing too much of the core taste.

Help...Ron, (or anyone!) can these VSG's be saved?

Hell, go back and buy a box for me! I'll reimburse you for time & effort. Buy within oyur means or send me a note for what costs what.

Help...Ron, (or anyone!) can these VSG's be saved?

So how long is too long? I don't think that the oils are going to evaporate for a while, even without humidity the cigars are not going to be worthless in a time frame like 6 months or so. I know for a fact that when Pepin re-worked several boxes of the Lancero he let them dry out for 120 days...
