• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Cigars and Seattle

There's a sweet headshop in Tacoma on 56th that use to get in decent stuff. Last time I was there I got a fistfull of Hemi Classic Maduros for a decent price. High taxes though.

    Help: should I buy this?

Just because something seems like a good deal, it doesn't mean that it's a good deal for you. If your collection is growing faster than you can smoke them (I mean really faster) than a large capacity humidor is probably the smart buy. if you're still growing at a reasonable pace then you will...

    Notch cutters

I don't use a cutter that much anymore. I just take a pinch off the cap and I'm good to go. If I do need a cutter, I have an xikar and the tat cutter I got from NHC.

    Cigars and Seattle

I don't remember too many B&M's in seattle, but I do know that the one by Pike Place was a joke! I went there about 4 years ago. They had a really nice selection of lighters and fountain pens, but the cigars had been over humidified.

    Aging PAM 64

I have a box of A's that I got a few months ago that are from 2004-2005. The tag in the back of the box is missing so I don't know exact dates, but trust the guy I got them from! I haven't smoked one yet though...I've had an 8 y/o PAM A that was the most excellent cigar back in April. I would...

    The Prayer Pot

That's a great idea Wade. I would like to start that too. My kids are going through that identity crisis and I think it could show them that we are still a family and we are always there for support.

    Hey Wade

Man...that plate looks tough. I would hang it up somewhere as a testiment to how tough you are.

    Hey Wade

Wade...when did you crash? I must have missed that. Obviously you're okay but it's a shame to hear about the bike.

I would rethink that...the cold probably made the turtle jump back in the shell! I say Wade still has his Pink Card!

What causes that musty taste in aged cigars

Oxidation can cause the mustiness you're describing in an aged cigar. It's just a by-product of the whole long term experience we are all looking for to some degree. It's not a sure sign of maturity, but it does show a little age.

Headed out to the deck to smoke today and...ACK! (snow pics)

Wussy! Grab a tarp, turn towards the house, wrap tarp around your sorry ass and sit down. You'll be nice and dry, wind at your back and somewhat warm.

    Crysler closing plants

If the Big 3 fall, the residual fallout will make us all suffer. Too many people will be affected by this all the way down the supply chain. I feel the effects and not really directly affected by the Big 3, but with unemployment reaching astronomical heights I can't find a decent job to save...
