• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Just bought this..

Yup that is my choice sometimes cheaper to control the entire house temp then just the humidor temps.

I totally agree. I think that putting money into full controls is a great way for protecting your investment. By time you are really filling a large humidor you could easily be talking $50 000 if you collect rare or aged cigars.

24 is a little on the high side for me. That is 75F I am a little paranoid but my cigars won't ever see 70. Posted via Mobile Device

Well you may get better humidification and a prettier cabinet the lack of temp control would have me thinking twice. First one was all about temp control and this one has none? Posted via Mobile Device

What is Ambient temp where it will be stored. If you are only dropping a few degree's it shouldn't have to run too too much. Lots of beads and good air movement may be enough. Also as long as you store everything in boxes that will help mitigate the the effect on the cigars. I also put a...

What year are the SP's from. When you get a good box with some age on them can be one of my all time favourites. 03 Belis were amazing, I found some 02 Beli's in Havana this year and just not the same stick. Posted via Mobile Device

    "I can't believe it's not Cuban"

You sure about this? Cuba exports raw tobacco all the time. There is one store here in Canada that has a roller that uses Cuban tobacco. As far as I was told by some people fairly high up in Habanos Cuba exports lots of filler tobacco just no Ligero or wrapper tobacco. There are also quite...

    "I can't believe it's not Cuban"

For me the closest to CC's in NC' would be some of the older Pepin made stuff. I find them much like CC's in that young the don't always work for me but put 5+ years of age on them and the have developed into something completely different.

    Triple D Shorty Plus

Depends on what you want it to do. Thoughts on what else could be added are easier adjustments for times. Independant settings for multiple fans so upper fans may go on more or less often then lower fans. Temp dependant adjustments so the warmer it is the more often the fans turn on. All depends...

    The Feral Flying Pig pre-release

I believe both releases were quite wide spread and reasonably large. I think they were even on the shelves for quite a while but T52's were released a year ago august so not surprising they are tough to find.

    Cigar Collections / Advice

Hey I am with you. The only cigar that I have not enjoyed with a lot of age on it was some Fuente 858's with 12 years on them. Still glad I got to try them but 858's are milder then I normally smoke so they had almost dissapeared after that much age. Well I guess the more I think about it...

    Cigar Collections / Advice

My thoughts are if you plan on aging 10 years look towards either monster cabinet or walkin. For me the most important thing is stability so either your house or cabinet should be temp controlled. What ever system you use for humidification should be rock solid. Recomendations as to what to age...

    What Are You Waiting For?

No one group will ever be the end all answer but any onganized group advocating on your behalf is better then none like we have here in Canada. Even if it is just spreading the news hoping that others less vigilant then yourself realize whay is coming down the pipe. Compared to here in Canada...

    Cigar Rolling at Graycliff

So they are going to tell you that the best leaves come from Pinar Del Rio? I kid I kid but should be a great time. I have had mixed results with graycliff when they used to only produce really expensive cigars I was never let down now that they are showing up on discount sites and with...

    Bolivar Gold Medal

I think that most of the pricing issues were due to vendors. If I go by Havana pricing and these being $5.60 a stick it is right in line with what I think is should be. For me the qc issues were more on flavour then on draw I haven't had many with draw issues but have only smoked 4 or 5 boxes...
