• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thank you, I enjoy a variety and was very suprised by a CT shade smoke I had back in August. I've been trying to figure it out ever since. Maybe this combo of seco and volado will help in that endeavor. I also like all the flavors without so much pepper and am not looking to be swimming in...

How do you lay out your rolling table?

Got a new addition to my rolling table set up (thanks to @webmost for sharing the idea ) The household RH is reading 30% at the highest so this diffuser I hope will prevent the leaf from drying so fast on the table. The towel helps direct the vapor over the table versus straight up and away.

    Blend testing

So here is my BOTL resolution for 2018: When I find a good blend, I will order more leaf than I think I need so I will be able to continue making that blend.

    Reducing relights

When I started rolling, I believe the kit came with CT1DW iirc. I had trouble keeping them going also. Since then I found using a different binder and wrapper has made it easier to keep lit. For example I like using LO Dominican binder and LO Ecuador Shade Seco wrappers.

You are right, they don't have it. But I did get to smoke my yearling on the ride so all is well. Still a worthwhile trip.

I finally saved one for just over a year. It will be burnt on my way to a B&M I found while looking for the Archetype Dreamstate Bliss recommended not too long ago. This stick seems to be a "one-off" as it has no brethren on the shelf. It's 1.5 leaves Criollo ligero, 1.5 leaves Nic Habano seco...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

Finally saved a home roll long enough to have one that is over a year old...Going to have this one today on the way to a B&M that I didn't know had moved into the area. Its about a 50 minute ride so that should be perfect timing.

Wow, that's a great price on the Eagle Rare. And I've only seen the Colonel Taylor once before and that place was at least twice as proud of their bottle, I think it was almost $90.

It was good alone but magic with the bourbon, stumbled into that pairing by accident but so glad I did.

I found a blend of Piloto Cubano Seco, Mata Fina, and Dom Ligero Bound in Dom binder, wrapped in Ec Shade Seco to be very tasty and without pepper. When paired with Four Roses Small Batch bourbon, my description was like a cinamon roll. Hope the procedure goes well!

I've enjoyed the Corojo Viso and Nic Habano seco, and the Honduran filler that @Hopduro shared over the summer. This sounds like a good blend but you know how that goes... Thanks for the advice, sounds like it's time to prep for a rolling session!

@blisscigarco , If you would be so kind, would you share your thoughts on this blend? And what ratio did you use for the leaves? I just made an inventory sheet and want to try my latest addition, the Nic Hab Ligero. Your blend above is one of the hits I found searching BOTL Roller's forum...

Keeping track of which leaf is which

I tape a little piece of paper with the name of the leaf onto the baggie while casing the leaf. When done I pull it off and stick it to the tape dispenser for next time.
