• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    What's Your Challenge?

Well let's see. Long term...I'd like to settle into a rythm around my rotating shift work that allowed rollin once per week. Trick is with the 9 and 11 yr old I give them priority over the cigar rolling so when time is short, rolling is the first thing off the list. One day, rolling will get...

I've not mojo'd in quite a while but had started misting (binder and wrapper) with mojo instead of h2o in my last batch with mojo.

This mornings test stick was a blend of 1 NHS, 1 mata fina, and .5 criollo ligero wrapped in PA oscuro. Pretty nice morning blend. Little bakers chocolate and slight pepper.

    Vitolas

    I have two molds, a 44RG and a 48 RG. I seem to overstuff the 44 and under fill the 48....if only I'd ordered a 46!

It is WLT Dominican Ligero. I just started using it and it smells like a good tobacco. I haven't noticed any chocolate or woodsy scents. I've made a couple 1.5 nic hab seco 1.5 mata fina sticks and they're good but left me wanting to add somethung. That's why I added the 0.5 leaf of Dom Ligero...

WLT Kit Bliss Cigar Kickstarter Concept

OK, what work is being done? Are we talking more fermentation or something else? Like casing and stretching to make it lay flat? I'm not looking for the difficult part about when it's done, just curious what work we're talking about. TIA, Jim

    Wrapper

The last batch of blends I made, I just skipped the wrapper. Thought I'd see what the fillers brought on their own. Here's a shot of 1.5 leaves nic hab seco and 1.5 leaves criollo ligero, bound with WLT Dom binder. Kind of reminds me of a burnt waffle with butter on the retro hale...

    Question for you regular burners

I usually have a smaller cigar on the way to work and bigger one on the way home. On my days off, I often don't have time to indulge in a cigar as family has other plans for my down time. :)
