• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What does your car smell like?

My kids bought me some vanillaroma trees so my car smells like cigars and vanilla. All ashes (well 90% of them) get dropped out the window so while the car smells like smoke, it doesn't smell like an ash tray. Very similar to @JZBdano above, I drive with the front driver's side window open an...

I'd think so but the WLT Dom binder seems thicker than most seco filler leaves than I'm accustomed to.

Is all that leaf personal stash, or going on a shelf we all like to order from? Maybe that's a stupid question, or maybe I'm an inquisitive idiot....but either way, that's a lot of leaf!

So I'm intrigued by the listed ingredients on these 601 Steel stogies: Has anyone home rolled this combo or tried these smokes? I may have to order a 5er and some more leaf to mimic them...

    Blending Thread

I've rolled a couple using the WLT habano seco filler as wrapper. It certainly burns well enough but it doesn't look pretty. It looks mottled or bruised. Maybe I rushed it or something because I thought the habano seco filler leaves were in good shape for wrappers until I tried this. What do you...

    botls' rolls

I wish I had a good answer. I had no problems with burning in cheroot form nor any of the blends I tested. As for testing the leaf with a flame, I've not done that. It's something I should probably practice and learn. The 2010 MF is the wrinkliest and sandiest leaf I've encountered but I like it...

    botls' rolls

It would be interesting to know. My MF label was printed as 2013 crop but pen marked over wrote as 2010. The Corojo viso didn't have any such identifiers that I could see.

    botls' rolls

I've really enjoyed the NHS & Mata Fina combined with Criollo ligero so I will guess the one with all four will be best. I haven't enjoyed the Corojo viso as much and started leaving it out, letting the Mata Fina take its place.

Decided to make something out of the wrapper scraps I've been saving. Added 1.5 leaves of WLT Dom Ligero to a bunch of Ec. Shade Seco, bound twice by Dominican binder and wrapped in Ec. Shade Seco. If this turns out delicious, I'll be making more as I've saved a lot of wrapper parts...

    Leaf Deals

Which is a better grade, 1 or 17? I'm not sure which end of the spectrum 3-4 is... Following the link, it sounds like these are color based grades and this is very high grade. Sounds like 1 is tops.

    What tea are you drinking?

You guys may already know this, but just in case you haven't figured this out yet... I inadvertently learned tonight, if you dump the big clump of loose leaf tea from the steeping gadget then let the stuff clinging to the sides dry while rolling (or smoking) your cigars, it's comes off super...

    How to Make Cigars

Assuming you're talking about the wrapper leaf veins, I've found it helps to wrap in newspaper after putting the wrapper leaf on. I wrap a paper strip on just like a wrapper leaf to make it tight and compressive. Leave it like that overnight and the veins are greatly reduced/gone the next day...
