• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    What a nightmare

Well...apparently SOME of my inception-style thievery worked....or something... How else do you explain the fact that I now have 5 of your cigars in my humi? :squinteye

    Cello: Yea or Nea?

Hehe. Yeah well, I guess I learned my lesson!

    Cello: Yea or Nea?

Once again, it would depend. First and foremost, it is rare to find cello on Cuban cigars. So really, most times, this is a mute point. Beyond that, if they were individual cigars being stored in a desktop, I might not, just to protect the wrapper. If it was a full box of cigars, I probably...

    Cello: Yea or Nea?

Hoser, if the theory is correct, you would want them out of the cello for aging so as to marry the flavors throughout the box. HOWEVER, there are caveats (as with everything). For instance, take cigars En Tubos (In Tubes). These usually have a cedar sleeve within the tube which adds to the...

    Cello: Yea or Nea?

See Dprice's post above. They'll breath fine with the cello on. I wouldn't go so far as to say "the same" as they would naked, only because I've not done thorough research on the matter. But my understanding is that cello is plenty porous and therefor not a big factor in "breathing". That...

    interesting cigar boxes

What kind of clock movements are you using?

What type of Hygrometer do you use?

I have both self-adjustable and remote with base unit hygros. 3 remote units, two of which read dead-on and one that is +3-4% and probably a dozen of the rectangular self-adjustable hygros. If only someone would come up with remote self-adjustable hygros with a base-station, I would be in hog...

    Heartfelt Beads, Frequently Asked Questions

Sounds like you found your answer, but keep us posted. Setting up a new humi is always a tad bit tricky. The cedar could be a bit overhumidified from the seasoning process and the cigars could have been a bit overhumidified as well.

    Kindle

The nook definitely has it's advantages, especially if you are looking at the color and really want something more than just an ereader. Just hope that hammock is in the shade.

    A Coolidor Primer

I wasn't thinking. Any Cooler of any size will hold way more than 100 cigars. Just a note.

How many do you need? Shoot me a PM.

    ISO bags

What do you mean by bags? 5 finger bags?

    A Coolidor Primer

I agree, though I'd be surprised if my coolidor doesn't have something close to 100 cigars in it. I didn't count, but there are a bunch of boxes in that 48qt cooler. Unless you are going for a really big cooler, or perhaps if you are going to do the whole stand-up deal, I really don't see the...

Palio. Done. Well, 36 bucks I guess.

    Cutter care info

Never cleaned any of my cutters that I can think of. Missing my Palio at the moment as I somehow managed to pull it completely apart (was sticking prior to that) and somehow lost one of the blades. Awaiting a replacement via the excellent CS from Palio (run by a great BOTL).

    Shift Change!

It's all about priorities, and family first is a pretty good place to start.

    Cello: Yea or Nea?

Hoser45, my personal preference is to remove cellophane over all. I can't think of a reason why I would keep the cellophane wrap on a box. That being said, I don't believe it will harm the cigars. Ask yourself this: is there a reason I want to leave the cellophane wrap on the box? If you...
