• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Lancero February 2017

The Skinny Frank was awesome a couple days ago. Finish was long with cherry, vanilla, and grew into Dr Pepper. I really liked that. Can't wait to see what this one will bring:

    Any petit corona smokers?

Mini Kinky (@Hopduro ) Verocu 5 I even enjoyed some JR Habanitos that I picked up for budget smokes. They were much better after I'd forgotten about them for many months and then rediscovered them in the bottom of my humidor. Edit: Sorry, I just realized this is in the Habano section...

    Blend testing

Tried a blend of 1.5 habano seco and 1.5 mata fina with Dominican binder and PA Oscuro wrapper today. Started with all pepper for the first inch the moved into a predominantly chocolate and some oaky flavors for the rest of the stick. It was only 5 days old so this leaves me wondering what would...

Do you actually have a "cigar budget"?

Same here! I switched over my cigar budget to a tobacco leaf for rolling budget. Was doing well until I found out how much my wife and daughter were spending on shampoo products...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

I'll keep that in mind when I pack your box! I don't have a mold for this size so I can't say for sure. Just bunched it and wrapped with newspaper strips. The wrapper leaf is PA Oscuro. First inch was all pepper then it mellowed into chocolate and woody flavors. Pretty good combo.

Why is the wrapper so important?

You can always experiment with your cigars by taking the wrapper off one to see what the results are....;) I've found, while rolling, some wrappers have a bigger influence than others. The lighter more delicate wrappers are less influential in my opinion than darker (ligero or sun grown...
