• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

$4000 Cuban budget... what do you buy in Havana?

I have been to Cuba many times. As I understand it there is a 10% charge on all currency exchanges so it doesn't matter what you use. I too wonder if the trip to Cuba was ever done ????

    mold or plume study

In another thread Nacho Daddy posted a link to thread on another forum. It is a (somewhat) scientific study of the existence of plume and if it is real or not. I found it incredibly interesting and thought it deserved its own thread. If you read through the thread please read the whole thing...

    Lazy Man's Humidity Control

Like they said ^^^^ kitty litter is my lazy (and chaep) way. I add a spritz of water a couple of time a year. RH stays 65 - 70%

What got you into the cigar rolling hobby? and Why roll your own?

I roll because I have a problem. I have to make everything myself. Not always, but at least once. I made my own beer, wine, furniture, built two homes, built my humidor, I even grew my own tobacco one year just so I know that I can. I enjoy commercial sticks but I have to roll to feed my DIY...

    New Member From Ontario Canada

Welcome from Almonte. I had to look up Tottenham. I can't believe there are enough people there to have a cigar club ! Good luck finding any events in Ontario. I've never found any. The anti-smoking laws have done an outstanding job in crushing any method of getting together to enjoy...

Well... I guess I should say something before this gets out of hand

All the best to you both.

Sighted Man's Truth: The Circle of Leaf

Hey Webmost, where did you get the idea to wrap your cigars like a mummy? Is it original or are there commercial sticks that also do that? I think it's cool.

Sighted Man's Truth: The Circle of Leaf

I'd love to see the full cigars before they are lit so I can see the skills of my fellow brothers. I do realize that it's the taste, not the look, that is the important factor for this exercise and I'm really looking forward to the results.

Let's see how you store your cigars.

Hey Lok17, I need some enlightening about your Liberty cigars. You seem to have some Liberty cigars from the Camacho line. You also have some others that don't have the Camacho logo on the box end. You have a bunch of them and from looking at the rest of your stash you obviously have good...

This is sooooo cool ! I know the worry about waste is a noob thing, but still..... so cool. What I had never seen before is your "magic morsel". I am going to try this next time to improve the firmness of the head. It is always a concern. You should post your video in the thread about how...

Sighted Man's Truth: The Circle of Leaf

I just thought I'd chime in here and say that this is a great idea. Being Canadian I'm not invited to play :( but I'm really looking forward to the results. Smoke on !

    Hello from evil Ontario.

Why do some magazine ads have warnings?

Yeah, the pictures are gross! We also cannot display tobacco products anywhere. They are kept in closed cabinets with no markings that can only be handled by store staff. You have to ask for what you want by name because you aren't allowed to look or browse. They are also going to make all...

Why do some magazine ads have warnings?

I guess you're right. It surprises me because here in Canada we've had warnings on all tobacco related advertising since 1988 (30 years) !

    It's here

Beautiful. I love the look of wood. I've never been a fan of the basic winador, no matter how fancy it is. I built my winador into a wood cabinet.

Why do some magazine ads have warnings?

This thread sort of drifted off topic.... that's OK, it happens. But to get back on topic, I have noticed over a past few years that some adds have warnings and some don't. I find it hard to believe that it is a compliance window since it has been going on for some time and why would anyone...

Why do some magazine ads have warnings?

I read Cigar Aficionado magazine and have always wondered why some full page ads have Surgeon General warnings and others don't ??

    Looking for cigar conventions

As the little box beside my posts says, I'm in Almonte, Ontario, which is near Ottawa. I travel a lot so if I found something interesting anywhere in the U.S. then I could make it happen. Also, I've always wondered if I could find enough interest locally to host a mini version of these cigar...

    Looking for cigar conventions

We're all aware of Cigar Aficionado's "Big Smoke" weekend convention. The idea of it has always intrigued me but when I see photos I see a mass of people jostling for space in an overcrowded convention hall. I would love to attend a large cigar event but the "Big Smoke" is too crowded to be...
