• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    R.A. German Regional Belicoso

I forgot I even had these.....tried one and wasn't duly impressed. I'll smoke the RA CF's over these anyday.

Cohiba Reserva, does this cigar look saveable?

I'm not near my stash but damn that wrapper looks rough....not the kind of wrapper I'd expect to adorn a Cohiba Reserva. The bands aren't necessarily indicative of authenticity either. Like the others have said, you paid $5 so let us know whether it was worth it.

    Macbook Pro

Yep, I have a 15" Unibody and regret getting the glossy screen. I should have gotten the 13" instead for portability. Otherwise, it's a great machine for what little photography editing I end up doing.

    Fonseca Invictos

Wrong forum...he's talking about the cuban Fonseca Invictos. I tried a few of the Invictos but they weren't to my liking. For that matter, none of the Fonseca's do it for me.

    Washington DC

I just moved out of DC but here's a few places from memory. B&M's: If you're in Georgetown, then head to Georgetown tobacco. Paul Garmirian (PG cigars) is from the area so they'll have a bunch of his stuff there. Otherwise, Curtis Draper is one of the best in DC proper. They have a few seats...

    Help on Partagas

I personally do not think they taste similar and the blends are different. In fact, take the D4, remove 50% of it's refinement, inject it with steriods and that would be the P2 in it's youth. Can't tell you how the P2 tastes with age but when they're young, they're strong!

    Tatuaje Pork Tenderloin

So now you have the porkchop/tenderloin paired with the Verite which is akin to wine.....shall we see some type of salad or dessert next?

    think and opine

Jason has made some really good points already and I'll add my 2 cents. 1) NC's, in general, are rolled and aged for at least a year prior to release. Some even aged longer. Therefore they're ready to smoke immediately. This is something they can easily do because of the available stockpile of...

    2011 miami heat

The whole game of basketball is spectacle nowadays. Lebron is simply one cog in the machine. The Heat will be a team to reckon with this year. They may not win it all but they'll go far I'm sure. Hey, if the Olympic basketball team with all those egos could do it, then I'm sure the heat will...

    Summer of microbrew experimentation

Since it's the dead of summer, I'll stick to IPAs/DIPA. This is a list one should inspire to when it comes to some of the best examples of the style and microbrewers... 1) Alesmith Yulesmith (Summer) IPA 2) Founder's Centennial IPA 3) Pliny the Elder 4) Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA 5) Stone...

Do either of these phones support voice dialing? A must in these days of hands free calling IMO.

    Ballast Point Sculpin IPA

Not that fond of the Sculpin....a little less pungent. I'll take a Founder's Centennial or Racer 5 IPA on draft instead.

    Aruba trip

Brings back memories....Nellie is wonderful. Being so close to the ocean, the cigars take on a more salty character. Beware, fakes abound but stick to the La Casa and you'll be fine. BTW, eat at El Gaucho. Wonderful Argentinian steaks. After dinner you can mozy across the street to Garufa and...

I lit up my second BHK 54 last night and made some noticeable comparisons to your review on the 56. Similarities: Great looking vitola The band is absolutely stunning Light packing/bunching given the ring guage. I expected a little more heft. Some similar flavors detected - spice and...

Thievin' Weasel Review - Bolivar Short Bolivar RE '08

Forgot to take notes when smoking this cigar but I remembered a fair good deal about it so here goes...oh, thanks again for the contest and the smoke. Appearance : The Bolivar Short Bolivar is essentially a short edmundo. The wrapper had a few imperfections but overall the presentation...

    Ribs on the grill

The ultimate sin. One should strive to never boil their ribs. You lose all the flavor in the meat. Slow and low is the key to proper ribs. Some rubs are so good, you don't need sauce. Some folks like their ribs wet so if you sauce, sauce in the last 30mins of your cook. The only exception to...
