• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Question for all the FOGs around

Love the story about Lou Rothman....he and I went round and round years ago but I still like the guy and he's a person that you don't see many flies buzzing around him. In the early years you are correct in how cigars were sold and singles were the most advantageous way of getting more bang for...

Question for all the FOGs around

Humidors have been around for 100s of years and when I started in this hobby at such an early age it wasn't an issue for me to store them. The Tinder Box was close enough where I would swing by and grab about 5 cigars...( 1 per day ) and didn't worry about storage as I kept them in ....get...

Question for all the FOGs around

I'll add a bit more even as I sit here tapping on my android which may shorten this post. A lot of my formal cigar education came from my days in college in Florida as I mentioned. Ybor City was a treasure trove of info as I talked with the purveyors and owners of the cigar shops....the...

    Nice to meet you all.

Great Intro.....and btw...I love NOLA! 2 weeks in Australia.....I'm jealous and having a wife that will share this hobby of ours...I'm twice jealous! When you get settled back home I'll be going to NOLA like we do every year to enjoy the town and they have as you know...some really good Cigar...

Question for all the FOGs around

I started smoking in the late 60s....I was 13 years old and loved...loved cigars. El Productos, A&C and some handmade cigars from Mall Stores ( Tinder Box.....which is still in business btw....I used to hit this place every week in HS and got the big green Churchills ) which were about as...

Would you buy from a B&M when

Couldn't have said it better.....one of the things about B&M's I love when I travel around is that aroma I can't get at home. I wish that B&M's would get smart and make their business a "safe place" to go to and not crank up the RH to where they call mold "plume"....it just gives them a bad...

Would you buy from a B&M when

I wouldn't and I don't eat at a restaurant when the employees don't wash their hands after taking a whizz. Some things should be common sense....as Jim Croce use to sing....You don't tug on superman's cape You don't spit into the wind You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger And you...

    Las Calaveras EL 2017

This thread is over a year old...did anyone realize that?

    Another fakes thread

This always piques my interest with these threads because the Caribbean is just a place to rip off touristas and has been for decades. Cigars and purveyors who sell them know they have an edge on vacationers who come in by the tens of thousands and even if they get 10% ( more like 40% ) they...

    Experiments anyone?

As much as I'd love to do experiments with tobacco this has the earmarks of when I was in HS and the teacher of my chemistry class would call on me.....I'd look at him with that empty glazed look and he knew I had no f'n clue to any answer to give him....to which I'd say...I have no f'n clue...

    Moldy

Green foam .....just reading about it makes me nauseous. This stuff is like one of the plagues we read about and yet all of these manufacturers will put them in their humidors and sell them to anyone. It's comparable to selling a nice luxury BMW and put generic oil in the crankcase.....c'mon!

    I found Cigar Bid...

Like others have said CBID tanked when they stopped housing the Premium Cigars....Padron,,, Fuente,,,etc. I guess if one likes the mid-range cigars they can get deals on there but I stopped using them a few years ago because some of the crazy people would bid over MSRP on the leftovers and that...
