• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Need help with Scotch selection

So when in Nicaragua we did a Rum tasting one night. We had 7/12/18 yr rums that were freshly opened that night. The only one that I was able to taste without an alcohol attack on my pallet was the 18. Am I going to experience that attack with the scotch's lower than 10, 15 or 18 year? I am...

    Need help with Scotch selection

You guys rock. Thanks. Once again I am going OCD trying to learn about scotch, just like I do with cigars. I have never wanted to get into the expensive alcohol world because cigars take up too much of my spending cash as it is, but I can't afford not to pick something up south of the border as...

    Need help with Scotch selection

Ok, so the wife is going to Vegas for a few days, and I want her to bring back some decent (yes decent, not expensive) scotch for me (around 40-70/bottle) and need some advice. I have had scotch a couple times and do not like JW Blue/Red/Black, but have had a couple different bottles from...

    CC, NC, or both?

MY TURN you cranky bunch. I personally believe that more people AROUND the world smoke cubans due to the fact that they have been around for over a century. If Nica and Cuba both started producing cigar 15 years ago, for example, I do believe you would find a greater ratio between the two...

Couple new gifted cigars....yup that bad

I do not ever plan on smoking that huge stick, it will be a show piece beside my cigar mold and cigar pipe. I might give those other 5 a try as filler sticks when I am working around the yard this summer. As for the humi, it is a mini fridge not a thermoelectric. If I got real creative, I...

Couple new gifted cigars....yup that bad

So my Dad and brother went to the DR last week and they know how much I like my cigars. I got over to see my Dad today to find these waiting for me.....ugh. The Case is supposed to be Cohibas made in the DR licensed from Cuba, and the second is just humongous. I took a pic of a T52 Toro next...

    j. fuego origen originals

I ended up buying the 60 case of these based strictly on what the boys on the Dog Watch Cigar Radio podcast said, and I havent been dissapointed. I am letting these age slightly before smoking again as they seem like they would benefit from some amalgamation of oils.

Which Wrapper Do You Normally Prefer? (see Chart)

I LOVE Habano wrapped cigars. Oliva V, Nub Habano, my personal stick rolled at Plascencia....there are others, but I have a terrible time remembering things on the spot.

Got a couple boxes of the BOTL sticks as they are delicious. One of those boxes are for the Canadian contingent out East, and the rest is for my humidor that just ran out of room today....need to prep the desktop humi for the aging sticks :/ I asked Tim to throw in some different smokes as I...

    I Like CAO

I would say that CAO is a decent brand for my palete, I have half a box of MX2's left and really like the Brazilias. The one great thing about them is the tobacco doesnt change, the smokes taste the same every time, year after year.

My newest dilemma-Hot Water Tank vs. Intant Hot?

You do have the option of going with a "high efficiency" hot water tank, which uses PVC plastic pipe for venting just like high efficient furnaces. I personally wouldn't go for the tankless heater unless you have a lot of money as they are very expensive when buying and then you need a tech when...

Underwhelmed by a "highly rated stick"

You and Brent sbould like those. Nice change at the halfway point, and great rich tobacco at the end. I really have to stop smoking 2 sticks back to back, it doesnt help picking flavors :\ I did like it though
