• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Anyone following the "fake cigars at cbid" stuff on other forums?

I agree. If you buy a $2 cigar, it could be shitty long filler or decent short filler. I don't think there's a big difference between shitty long filler and decent short filler. Although, if you are are respected vendor who claims to be selling low-end long-filler when you are really selling...

Anyone following the "fake cigars at cbid" stuff on other forums?

I saw this same story on another thread two days ago. Watched Cigar Obsession link. Quite disturbing. But it makes a lot of sense. It's capitalism at its finest.

    Neptune Cigar - great!

Ahhh, yes. I remember that thread. He looks like a fine craftsman. Only 12 in the world. Wow! Well, your cabinet will not just be an heirloom but, a thousand years from now, I priceless museum artifact! LOL! Brilliant idea, my friend, brilliant. I think cabinets, if you have the space, are the...

    Low humidity solution

Sorry, guys! Polymer crystals, super-absorbent polymers, or gel: http://www.soilmoist.com/products/soil-moist.php, http://www.stogiefresh.info/edu-humidors/articles/beads-vs-polymers.html. I use a 50/50 PG solution that I make myself with distilled water and propylene glycol. I fill the bottom...

Just out of curiosity, Zippo, where are you getting a custom cabinet made? I only ask because I am now in the market myself.

    Low humidity solution

Thank you, guys. That's actually the first time me and that box have endured a winter together. It never occurred to me that the dry, less humid and cooler winter air would have an effect on my internal RH. But it now makes sense, because all summer and fall it held rock solid at 68 percent. My...

    Low humidity solution

My humidor has dipped to 63% RH. I know what some will say. That's not tragic. But honestly, I enjoy mine around 68-70. I live in a dry climate, so a little extra humidity makes them burn better. The humidor seems stuck here. I want to take all the cigars out and put a damp sponge in the empty...

Let's see how you store your cigars.

Nothing fancy. Each hold 4 rows of 15. RH is rock solid. Lined with Spanish cedar from Woodcraft.com. Humidifiers are cheap pucks I filled with polymers and homespun 60/40 PG solution. Seasoning took 48 hours. I epoxied magnets to back of pucks and then put magnets on top of container cover...

    New cabinet humidor

Really nice work! You mentioned that the wood is formaldehyde free. I just saw a frightening story on 60 Minutes this Sunday that claimed Lumber Liquidators is selling wood flooring with high amounts of formaldehyde. They get all their lumber from Chinese factories. I was wondering if the...

    Did Partagas change bands?

One look at those oily wrappers and trip caps, and they could have My Father bands on them and I would still say they're Habanos!!!!
