BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

past couple few have been new smoke days. first was a room101 payback 6x60: medium, little oily texture which i dig, a little odd and pleasant floral and good spices in there. the 60 ring thinned it out for me, so the robo is next, but it should be a crowd pleaser. then a dunhill 1907...- javajunkie

voted and done! it honestly don't matter as long as the funds raised go to help someone, but i think a lot of us are liking the idea of keeping the run off within the area of where we were initially working... that said, is it still too late to put "strippers" as an option? o)- javajunkie

nothing official i can find. i did spy an IG photo taken by PJ a while ago, and it looks like: frank, box pressed CG, drac, 5 1/2x54 beli, face, 5ishx54 or 56, wolf, full beli 6x54, mum 6x52 toro, jv 6x54 or 56, and the tiff and chuck look to be 4 1/2x54 or 56. and mind you, this is by eye, on...- javajunkie

Pipe Break In.
just smoke the shit out of them? probably 1/3 of my pipes are not drilled "ideal", and could be considered either too high, or off to the side, on the draft hole. it matters more how you smoke, IMO. which is a factor of experience, which comes with time. i have been smoking briar...- javajunkie

just to add to this, i have left some tobaccos out overnight, loose. i have a plastic cutting board, cut into quarters, that fits my pipe pack, and use that for cutting tobaccor, or setting problematic blends aside. some times, a LONG drying period doesn't hurt. also, with what the guys are...- javajunkie

What's in your bowl today
see, i HAVE several other MM legends, zero issue. all of them have cylindrical bowls, poker-like shapes. this one, with the taper on the bowl, seems hell-bent on dying on me. FWIW, the country gentleman, among others, has a hardwood plug in the heel, rather than just cob: if you have an issue...- javajunkie
