Brothers,

The time has come for this gig. Tonight when I get off work I'll have a great cigar-I think the Padron 80th, my fine brother Matt gave me, get packed up and tomorrow we are off to the hotel.

My bud and I will go visit Moore and Bode cigars Friday morning and I'm sure we'll pick up some nice sticks. I haven't tried the full brass, a 7 1/4 inch long pyramid that ends up with an 82 ring at the foot yet, so I might get some of those. John knows the owners very well, so we will likely sit around smoke and chat for a while with them.

Then it's back to the hotel, to check in, hang at the pool with mojito's and of course some great cigars. Can't wait to show John his sticks, I think he will be impressed. I owe so many of you a special thinks for the bombs, buys and trades that made that box what it is. He's getting 18 sticks that cover everything from pre-embargo, favorites, HTF premiums he hasn't tried and his very favorites.

The short party list includes this dear couple, the woman who married my wife and I, a couple I performed their wedding ceremony for and another couple that just got engaged at our house a couple of months back. These are some very sexy, very wild friends that will be partying with us, and as you see, very close friends as well. You can’t plan a celebration like this without friends like those, and I’m truly blessed to have them. There will be pictures, and I'll find a few that can be posted here, Cigar Porn for sure, I've already taken some of “The Box”, but don't want to post them until post party.

Ken, top honors and thanks for bombing me with three amazing pairs of sticks that went into the special box. In a group of stand up guys, you've stood a little taller.

Jay, Gale, Casey, Ron, Adam, Scott, John, Adam, Rick, Shane, Ted, Wade and Eddie, thanks for the buys, trades, bombs, passes, etc. that has grown my collection so much in such a short time. Some of these sticks made the special box, some are going as cannon fodder to the masses who will join us this weekend, and others I'm hogging for myself. Thank you all.
Have a great time man! Cant wait to see the pics!

Well, the weekend is over, I had a 40th for the record books, and I have a few pictures to post that were taken before the event. This is the box I put together for my bud plus the four Opus X Forbidden I’d been saving for this special occasion.

Our first smokes were two each Clean Havana’s, A Royalist from the 1930’s which was a very good smoke and still a Med-Full despite the age, but Oh So smooth and a Headline from the 1950’s, which was good, but didn’t match up to the Royalist. We started with these, because with anything of this age you haven’t tried before, you have no idea what to expect. John followed up with a Bolivar while I focused my full attention to the Mojito’s at hand.

The weekend followed with many more great cigars, great drinks, amazing food and super friends. The Forbidden X on Sat did not let us down. John called it the best cigar he’d ever had, which is quite the claim, I’d have to say it falls into my top 20 for sure, and maybe my top 10, it was great.

Enjoy the pictures for now and I’ll post up more later when I recover a bit. Take note of the differences in the two MC bands. The #3 in the picture has some serious age.

Wow, that looks awesome!

So who got shafted with the CAO Vision? :pokemyeye
Nobody or both of us, depending on how you look at it. We each got a matching box like that, so whatever either of us was in the mood to smoke we could each have one. So that box is half the smokes I took with me that weekend, it's what I gave him! Actualy, I supplied the smokes for everyone that weekend, so the "Party" box was full of some great smokes as well.

The Vision made it into the box with the LG#2 and the Ligra Pravada #9 under " NC stuff he hasn't tried". Some that didn't make the box because it didn't hit the "Favorites" catagory or he already has lots of in his humidor included Partagas 150's, Anejo, Tat Black and 858 Sun Growns. He's not that easy to shop for.

Also, I don't know if you've tried the Vision since the release, they were a bit rough back then, but with over a year extra on them, they are getting noticably better. This pair was from the first shipment and are smokeing well now.

Anyway, any sampler where the Vision is the Dog Rocket, works for me.

The rest of the sticks looks fantastic--many of them are far, far nicer than anything I've ever smoked!

But about the Vision...it's not that it's a BAD cigar, it's just that it's a boring and average cigar (flavor-wise), something that I wouldn't say about the rest of the sticks in that box.
