  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This may well be my new favorite daily cigar! Packaged in a super nice cedar box with 1/2" thick sides. The cigars are cedar sleeved and look like they should cost $20 a stick.

Right off the bat a nice nutty flavor. No bitterness at all. A few puffs later and a complex mix of coffee and cocoa flavors abound. The smoke is strangely pleasant in my office (not nose burning at all). Trying to discern the scents of the smoke I keep thinking of maple, toasted nuts and something baking in an oven.

At the end of the first third it's getting a tad sweeter, still zero bitterness. Usually by now my palate has some sign of bitter, lingering after taste from smoking to aggressively but not with this cigar.:smokingco

The second third it cooled off a bit so I tapped the long ash off and gave it a boost with another match and the toasty flavors and scents reappeared once again. This is the best smelling cigar I've ever smoked! A slight coffee after taste is developing on my tongue but it's not bitter...just lip smacking good.

The final third has me thinking that a nice pint of stout would really compliment this cigar...it's 10:30 am and I'm now craving a beer!:bottle: This stick is slow burning...solid 45 minutes or more to get to the band. I'm unsure if it was over humidified from the shop but it burns slow. Long draws on the last third haven't burned my mouth. I'm suspecting a month in the humidor will make this an unbelievably good smoke.

I will be buying more of these...at $62 a box they are a STEAL!

Shhhh, this is one of cigars best kept secrets. A fantastic underrated cigar that it seems many don't even know about. And truth be know, you can usually get boxes on c-bid for about $45.00! Shhhhhhh!

Nice Review!!

I have one of these in the Humi That has been sitting for a while. I left it alone because I had heard some bad things about the brand, but I kept in on top because it does look great. I will now have to put that puppy to it's firey destiny this weekend. Hopefully I am over this cold I have soon. I haven't smoked in 4 days. I have some crazy sh!t in my throat.
CI has them for $69 a box with a freebie of 8 othe 5 Vegas smokes,

Where in town have you seen these? I'm going to have to pick a few up.
I haven't seen them in town...I don't look much except for the shop in Owasso. I'll give you one to try if you are in Tulsa. :smokingbo Or trade you a handful for 1 anejo or opus x...just cause I've never tried one.

Thanks for the offer. I'm about an hour away (Tahlequah), and sorry on the anejo or opus, I haven't tried them either.

The only place that I know of that gets them in from time to time is Fogue and Bates off of 71st.

Smoknz was dead on in his review. After reading some very positive comments on Top25Cigar, I entered and won a CB auction for these.

I enjoyed my first last week. Considering the taste, construction, execution, and price (I paid $9 for a 5er), this may be the perfect stick for me. :)

Good review.
My experience was just about the same but I smoked an Alpha. You’re right about the aroma. It has got to be one of the best smelling cigars I’ve come across. I was shooting an IDPA match and a fellow shooter was smoking one. The aroma caught my attention immediately. He gave me one and I let it rest in my humi for a few months and was not disappointed. The series “A” is my favorite out of the 5 Vegas line.
I don’t think you can buy them local unless you live near CI. I think they are exclusive to CI, Cigar.com or c-bid and like Wade said “Shhhhhhh”
Thanks for the review.

Ok, after reading all the raving about these, i pikced up a 5er on cbid. We'll just see what all the hype is about. $9 plus shipping. Can't beat that with a stick.

I've been smokin' cigars off and on for several years now. I think this is my whole 2nd post here. The 5 Vegas A series is one of the first cigars that I think I fell in love with. A nice med. to full body and the flavor is nearly unbeatable. Great review, btw. I love CI and that's my main spot to order from. I'll have to check some of the other stores mentioned here, but CI's logo is just too cool to pass by, not to mention their prices. And for a broke slob like me, when I do order, I figure I gotta be picky, especially since I can't afford to buy some sticks that come "pre-dried".
