  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

At work we have a material called Sintra, it's basically plywood made from PVC. We have it in different thicknesses from 1.5mm to 25.5mm which is 1". We also have a lot of waste at work, which is kinda cool at times for trash picking. I picked up a few nice size pieces of 25.5mm Sintra a couple months ago with the thought of making a garden bench, well, yesterday I started and finished it. I figure I used just over a full sheet of material with all the scraps I had, a sheet runs just under $500, it's not cheap stuff, it mills like a dream, cuts perfect, screws hold well, and the routed areas sand nicely. I glued it together with another product from work called Sika Flex, it's a caulk like adhesive.

Nice bench!

I couldn't take my eyes off that damn blue crystal ball in the background. Anyhoo, I've got a strange urge to send you all my smokes now...not sure why. :headroll:

Haha... but it's huge! And apparently there's only one... I won't ask why.
Sick bastards! The blue globe was Linda's Moms and she wanted it after she passed away.

It was a fun easy build, nothing special, but something I've wanted to make for a while. Now I need to make one out of cedar or teak. Sascha, it was good to get back in the shop, but man, that freakin Sintra makes the worst sawdust, being plastic it has a lot of static, so it's on the floor, walls, tools, bench...it's everywhere!
