Just tried to call Sweethearts to double check they still had some, but they are closed on Mondays. Last time I called (about 2 weeks ago), they said they had plenty.

I was there last year over the summer and they had plenty of Opus, Anejos and Casa Fuentes in stock at steep prices. Let's not forget the tobacco tax has a good protion of that price increase and I'm sure rent in the Ceasar's forum shops ain't cheap either.

Whoops, sorry for the repetitive post

Was there in December and they were stocked with everything. Like someone said, they are pricey but I think that is due to the taxes. Just buy the Casa's and you will be more than happy!

And I will second the easy on the eyes comment about the girls that work there.

I ALWAYS take my own cigars to Vegas. The prices are the same no matter where you go on the strip. Avid cigar smokers do not buy cigars in Vegas...the convention crowd and boys out on the Vegas weekend are huge to the shops business and it's all about demand. They can charge what they charge because these people will buy them.
On a seperate note....I thought the mojitos in Casa Fuente were not very good. There is a Spanish restaraunt in the front of the Fashion Show Mall on the strip, that has awesome mojitos!!!! By far the best I found in Vegas.
Casa Fuente is a must stop though for any avid cigar smoker, just to say you've been there.

You guys are surprised at price gouging in Las Vegas?!   Check out the prices on other cigars elsewhere in Vegas and you'll find that $60 for a Shark isn't surprising. EVERYthing there is priced insanely.

BTW, the regular Fuentes are comparatively INexpensive, as long as you are paying MSRP. I smoke maduros, and compared to comparable CAO MX2's, Partagas Blacks, and even RP Edges, the Fuentes are cheaper. If you're paying more than MSRP, you need to shop elsewhere.

BTW, feel free to flame away --- I'm gonna be off-line for the next 2 weeks or so! :widemouth

We'll have to agree to disagree then...IMO $60 is way to high regardless of taxes or how luxurious of an item it is...gouging, pure and simple. Even if Fuente doesn't own any interest in the shop it is a perfect example that, in practice, they couldn't care less about what shops charge for their products.
I know of accounts over the years that have had their shipments of Opusx, anejos, etc come to a stand still because of price gauging! Fuente, if aware of gauging does care. Vegas is not the typical. Go to any of the smoke shops in the casino's and they are all the most expensive in the country! The people that I know who have bought from casa fuente would never pay that kind of money for an anejo, but they do have the EXTREMELY hard to find smoke that are also EXTREMELY expensive. But do to rarity, the will buy it. Opusx footballs, only available in vegas or gifted from Carlitos himself. Anejo sharks, same thing, af13 same thing, hemingways with sg wrappers, etc. They also sell a one of a kind opus blend with a Cameroon wrapper that is only sold at that shop! Now me personally, could not pay the extreme prices, but could understand why some. This is not a store to go and stock up with regular stuff, but for the hard to find cigars.

Plus, it kills me to hear anything bad about the fuentes because they give millions each year to the childrend of the DR and to benefits in the US! A top notch family cooperation that has the highest standards for everything.

Agree on the Fuente's. Good people and great cigars. Vegas is Vegas. We go all the time and know that $65 for a FF Opus X DC is too much to pay. But hey, they have $12.00 mojitos, great looking waitresses, the Playboy store is next door and NO one complains about the smoke. You pay more for a cigar at a good shop than off the net but you get ambiance. Pay it and chalk it up to entertainment. I wouldn't try and stock up there

This conversation makes me glad I switched to cuban cigars.
This conversation makes me glad I don't pray to the Fuente Gods. No offense, but to me the difference between a 2 dollar cigar and a 6 dollar cigar is much greater than the difference between a 6 dollar cigar and 60 dollar cigar. That's price gouging aside. Price increase parallels quality increases only so long on the chart. I suppose when you're in Vegas, you're in a different mindframe, and that's the thought behind this whole topic. When in Rome, do as Romans.

I absolutely agree with you. However, I DO pray to the Fuente Gods, and I DON'T pay more than 6 dollars (well, $6.10 per stick for Royal Salutes at MSRP). The only exception is the occasional Anejo, in which case I'm still spending only around $8 per. FWIW.
