BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Barrel-aged IPA is an inherently bad idea.Founders doom barrel aged imperial IPA. This was extremely boozy and the barrel overpowered the hoppyness.

We checked out two really cool breweries today. Birds Fly South Ale Project in Greenville and Carolina Bauernhaus is Anderson. Both breweries focus on farmhouse styles and sours. Needless to say, great beer was consumed and instead of a bunch of pictures of beer I'm attaching a picture of each brewery/were all the beer came from. Cheers!

Tonight I'm drinking a homebrewed american sour ale aged with tart cherries. The aroma is slightly phenolic with hints of cherry and hay. The flavor profile is a nice crisp tartness, think berliner weisse, with subtle citrus and cherry notes.

Being bourbon barrel aged, is there any hop flavor/aroma left or is it just bitterness and oak/bourbon notes? Pretty cool but I don't believe I've ever seen a bourbon barrel aged IPA.12.4 abv... head spinning already.... danger danger

TBH, I don't detect much bourbon barrel, you can tell it was built as a super hoppy beer and the barrel aging definitely mellowed it out. $20 for a 4 pack to yeshhh.
