Ok After seeing a recent introduction and one of his hobbies listed as Beer Pong I have a question/ Statement. The name Beer Pong has been synonimized (sp) with Beirut. They are two different games and the new generation must have gotten drunk and not listened during rush week thier freshman year.
Beer Pong:
is played on a Ping Pong Table, with padles, just like ping pong. 2-4 people play with 1 "red cup" of beer for each player. The cup starts half way between the net and the back edge of the table. If an opposing player hits the cup, you must take a drink. If the ball goes in the cup, you must finish the beer and pour another. Each time you drink you move the cup back one "sweat ring" on the table. The first side to move thier cups off the table loses, and is drunk.
Beirut:
Is played on a much smaller table usually 24 inches wide by 6-7 feet long. At each end a triangle of "red cups" are possitioned using either 6 or 10 cups. You then throw a ping pong ball at the cups. If it goes in a cup, you drink the beer in it, and the cup is removed from the table. This game is much easier and ensures all parties get drunk. it can ba played any where that would allow you to place two triangles of cups roughtly 6-7 feet apart. Also it can be played indorrs or out doors.
So do you play Beer Pong or Beirut? Both games hold a dear place in my heart, but I can not stand hearing that Beer Pong has lost it's individuality because a bunch of drunk freshmen don't listen. Just because you are using a ping pong ball does not mean you are playing Beer Pong. Any way, just saying.
