I've got a Weber Smoky Mountain 18.5 and a Traeger that I won. Like them both, but for different reasons. Sometimes, the grill is the way to go though. After work, starving kids can't wait for a hamburger!

I've had mine for about 3 years now and love it, it's pricey and the eggccessories for them are pricey as well but well worth the money once you have them. If you do get one look at ceramicgrillstore.com, they have the best accessories out there that I've found so far. Depending on what you cook they have different setups you can purchase and everything is interchangeable. The Primo XL is a great smoker as well, my cousin has that one and I've helped him on his cooks as well. They both are very similar and do the same things, it has a bigger cook area which is nice to have but if you don't cook for a lot of people it's kind of a waist. If you have any egg questions feel free to ask and good luck.

Tom,
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Vision Grill. Let me know what you think.
Well, Mike, this is the one I ended up buying. Did a bunch of research and read way too many reviews. From what I can tell, this isn't the absolutely best out there, but it's very good and the customer service is supposed to be excellent. I placed my order today from HomeDepot.com and it should arrive sometime in the next 8-10 days. I had a HD gift card, which helped with my decision, but it was also about $1K cheaper than the BGE after you add in accessories.

Now I'm off to find a good thermometer so I can start smoking stuff!

I didn't see much talk about pellet grills.

I've been kicking around the idea of a BGE vs Kamado Joe or going with a pellet and getting a Traeger or a Yoder pellet grill. Any thoughts on taste benefits of one vs the other.

Only problem with the Traeger or pellet grills is you can't sear steaks or cook at a really hot temp. My neighbor has the Traeger and loves it because you can set it and forget it but for steaks he has to use another grill or my egg. I personally don't like the way ribs taste from the pellet grill but that's just me.
