  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I like to smoke a candela Fuente maybe a few times a year, just as a change of pace. I love the natural sweetness of the wrapper, but I don't like the acrid nature of the smoke. If you want to try a candela (also known as claro claro, double claro, American Market Selection, or AMS), I don't think IT is the best choice. Fuente 8-5-8 might be a good place to start.

Candela is either something you really like or really hate. I really hate it myself.
It's not as polarizing for me. I had an IT candela a while back that was like "hmmph... OK, but I have a lot nicer sticks in my humi." I also have some duds that are worse. But I had another recently that had been in there for a few months that I thought was pretty tasty. But they're not something I go out of my way to buy/try.

I really like most of the other ITs I have/have had.

For St Patrick's Day one year I tried a Camacho Candella. It didn't thrill me at all.
I have a couple of AF Candellas in my box that I haven't tried yet
